  • Patent number: 8967756
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a printer includes an image forming unit, a coloring conversion unit, and a deterring unit. The image forming unit forms an image from a temperature-sensitive ink whose color is changed depending on a temperature on a medium. The coloring conversion unit converts a coloring state of the image of the temperature-sensitive ink by heating or cooling the image of the temperature-sensitive ink. The deterring unit provided between the coloring conversion unit and the image forming unit deters an air heated or cooled by the coloring conversion unit from flowing toward the image forming unit.

  • Patent number: 8525860
Abstract: A printer comprises a conveying unit configured to convey a medium. The printer includes an image forming unit provided in a conveyance path of the medium, the image forming unit being configured to form an image with a temperature-sensitive ink, whose color is changed depending on a temperature, on the medium. A cutter for cutting the medium is provided in the conveyance path downstream of a medium conveyance direction of the image forming unit. Further, a coloring conversion unit is provided in the conveyance path downstream of a medium conveyance direction of the cutter. The coloring conversion unit is configured to change a coloring state of the image of the temperature-sensitive ink by heating or cooling the image of the temperature-sensitive ink formed on the cut medium.

  • Patent number: 8482585
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a printer includes a conveying mechanism, a first image forming unit, and a second image forming unit. The conveying mechanism conveys a medium. The first image forming unit forms an image with a non-temperature-sensitive ink whose color is not changed depending on a temperature, on the medium. The second image forming unit forms an image with a temperature-sensitive ink whose color is changed depending on a temperature, on the medium having the image with the non-temperature-sensitive ink formed thereon.

  • Publication number: 20120224907
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a printer includes a cutter configured to cut the transferred paper. A mark sensor is provided in the printer to detect marks attached at a certain interval on the paper. The printer further includes a control unit to determine a driving timing of the cutter depending on a driving amount of a motor determined after a first mark on the paper is detected by the mark sensor after the printing by the head is terminated. An adjustment unit is further provided to determine a driving amount of the motor until the mark sensor detects a second mark after the first mark is detected, and adjust the driving amount of the motor for determining a driving timing of the cutter based on the difference between the detected driving amount and a predetermined standard driving amount.

  • Patent number: 8066278
Abstract: In the state that a preceding sheet awaits at an awaiting position, a pair of conveying rollers are separated from each other, and the front end of a subsequent sheet sent out from a main conveying path passes the gap between the pair of conveying rollers. Based on a configuration that the distance from the trailing end of the subsequent sheet in the conveying direction to the pair of conveying rollers becomes equal to that from the front end of the preceding sheet to the pair of conveying rollers, the preceding sheet and subsequent sheet are sandwiched by the pair of conveying rollers so as to be conveyed in a first direction, thereby making the sheets into a state that the sheets are put on each other. Thereafter, the sheets are conveyed in a second direction by the pair of conveying rollers, so as to be discharged into discharging unit.
