  • Patent number: 5828170
Abstract: A fluorescent lamp unit includes a fluorescent lamp having a bulb constituting one discharge path, said bulb including three U-shaped tube portions, a lighting circuit operatively connected to the fluorescent lamp for lighting the fluorescent lamp, and a cover part having a cap at one end thereof and having a globe at other end thereof for containing the lighting circuit and the fluorescent lamp. Each of the three U-shaped tube portions has a pair of straight tube portions provided straight in a direction along to a basic center axis of the fluorescent lamp unit and has a bent portion being bent so as to be convexly curved toward the globe side opposite to the cap side thereby to form substantially U-shape and linking the glove side ends of the pair of straight tube portions. The straight tube portions are arranged equidistantly on a circumference of a certain radius from the basic center axis.

  • Patent number: 5743572
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pipe joint made of resin which is preferably used in, particularly, piping for a liquid having high purity or ultrapure water. In the pipe joint made of resin, a pipe receiving port 11 of a joint body made of resin 1, an inner ring 3, and a pressing ring 5 form primary, secondary, and tertiary sealing portions 10, 20, and 30. The primary sealing portion 10 is formed by a pressingly contacting area between a primary seal receiving face 13 of the joint body 1 and a primary seal urging face of the inner ring 3, thereby generating a seal contact pressure in an axial direction. The secondary sealing portion 20 is formed by pressingly contacting areas between secondary seal inner and outer receiving faces 15 and 16 of the joint body 1 and secondary seal inner and outer urging faces 36 and 37 of the inner ring 3, thereby generating a seal contact pressure in a radial direction.

  • Patent number: 5553900
Abstract: When used for connecting a fluid carrying pipe, the pipe joint for a fluid handling device of the present invention can provide a strong force for preventing the fluid carrying pipe from coming out from the pipe joint and can assure excellent sealing properties regardless of variations of the fluid temperature. The present pipe joint is arranged such that no fluid stay portion is formed. A cylindrical joint body is provided at the inner peripheral surface thereof with a receiving port into which a one-end pushing portion of a fluid carrying pipe is inserted, and at the outer peripheral surface thereof with a male screw portion. This joint body is formed integrally with the main body of the fluid handling device. Formed at the receiving port is a sealing portion inclined with respect to the axis thereof. A sealing ring having a sealing portion which comes in contact with the sealing portion of the receiving port, is pressingly inserted into one end of the fluid carrying pipe.

  • Patent number: 5516159
Abstract: A quartz pipe joint of the present invention can be used in a connection of, for example, a quartz pipe and a quartz pipe, or a quartz pipe 7 and a synthetic resin tube. The quartz pipe joint A has a joint body having a tapered pressing face a cylindrical sealing member 33 having a tapered receiving face 33, a lock ring which can deform to increase its diameter and deform to reduce its diameter and which can be fitted into an annular groove of the quartz pipe and a nut. When the lock ring fitted into the annular groove and the sealing member fitted into the quartz pipe are clamped by threadedly connecting the nut to the joint body, the sealing member is deformed to reduce its diameter by the function of the pressing face and the receiving face, so as to closely contact with the outer peripheral face of the quartz pipe, thereby exerting sealing properties. The lock ring engages with a groove wall of the annular groove to prevent the quartz pipe from slipping off from the joint.

  • Patent number: 5203062
Abstract: Apparatus (3) for pressing an inner ring (2) into a pipe (1) comprising a clamp base (8), a means (5) for pressing the inner ring along the axis of the pipe and a means for generating a force (6), all of them being located on the apparatus body wherein advancement of the pressing means permits an inner ring (2) held in the pressing means to be inserted into the end of a pipe which is held fixed in a clamp base (8). The pressing means has a ring holder (16) at its forward end for detachably holding the inner ring (2) to be inserted. The force generating means are supported by the apparatus body and comprise a pinion (21) engaged with a rack (5a).

  • Patent number: 5154453
Abstract: In a pipe joint made of resin in accordance with the present invention, a primary sealing is formed between an inner ring pressingly inserted into an insertion portion of a pipe at its one end to increase the diameter thereof, and the joint body into which the insertion portion of the pipe increased in diameter, is being inserted. When the threaded connection of a pushing ring to the joint body is advanced, a sealing force is applied to the primary sealing. The inner ring has an inner diameter equal to that of the joint body and that of the pipe, assuring a smooth movement of a fluid in the pipe without the fluid remaining at the joint.
