Abstract: A scroll compressor, whose back pressure is easily controlled and compression efficiency is high, is provided. The scroll compressor includes a plurality of compression chambers formed by engaging a fixed-scroll wrap and a orbiting-scroll wrap, and a back pressure chamber formed at an opposite side of the orbiting-scroll wrap of a orbiting-scroll. The scroll compressor additionally includes a high pressure chamber and a middle pressure chamber, which are formed by dividing the back pressure chamber using a seal. Moreover, the scroll compressor includes a first path for supplying lube oil from the high pressure chamber to the middle pressure chamber, and a second path for supplying the lube oil from the middle pressure chamber to an suction chamber of the compression chambers. The first path is intermittently opened by orbit of the orbiting-scroll.

  • Patent number: 6273691
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to improve the efficiency of a scroll gas compressor by operating a bypass at a proper compression ratio. To achieve the object, the present invention is constituted so that at least one pair of bypass holes whose one ends are opened in a compression chamber currently performing compression nearby a discharge vent and whose other ends communicate with a discharge chamber are asymmetrically arranged on a panel board. This structure makes it possible to improve the efficiency of the compressor by operating the bypass at an optimum compression ratio even if a difference is observed between pressure rises of a pair of symmetric compressed spaces under the compression process.

  • Patent number: 6206661
Abstract: A hermetic compressor includes a compressor mechanism section 40 which includes first and second rotary cylinders 41a and 41b, and first and second pistons 42a and 42b eccentrically rotated in first and second grooves 42a and 43b in the first and second rotary cylinders 41a and 41b, upper and lower bearings 50a and 50b which clamp the first and second rotary cylinders 41a and 41b, and a casing 51. A projection, 64, a projection 66 or a recess 67 is formed on slide faces in the components of the compressor mechanism section 40, whereby the power loss due to the viscosity is reduced remarkably by reducing the sliding area of the slide faces. Thus, the efficiency of the compressor can be enhanced, and the inclination and the eccentricity of the rotary cylinder can be suppressed to the minimum.

  • Patent number: 6102677
Abstract: A hermetic compressor according to the present invention uses a compressing mechanism which includes a rotary cylinder having a groove, and a piston slidable in the groove, so that the piston is rotated on a locus of a radius E about a position spaced apart at a distance E from the center of the rotary cylinder, thereby performing a compression stroke. In this compressing mechanism, the rotary cylinder is rotated and slid within the groove by rotation of the piston on the locus of the radius E about the position spaced apart at the distance E from the center of the rotary cylinder. Therefore, two spaces are defined in the groove by the piston and varied in volume by the sliding movement of the piston, whereby the compression and suction can be carried out.

  • Patent number: 5855475
Abstract: A scroll compressor has a check valve assembly for selectively opening and closing a discharge port and allowing a fluid to flow only from the discharge port towards a discharge chamber. A stationary end plate mounted in the scroll compressor has a plurality of bypass holes defined therein at locations symmetrical in terms of pressure. The plurality of bypass holes are open to compression chambers closest to the discharge port and communicate with the discharge chamber. The stationary end plate also has at least one bypass valve for selectively opening and closing the bypass holes and allowing the fluid to flow only from the compression chambers towards the discharge chamber through the bypass holes. The bypass holes are serviceable to prevent an excessive compression and are positioned so as not to be closed by an orbiting scroll wrap immediately after the compression chambers closest to the discharge port have communicated with the discharge port.

  • Patent number: 4886435
Abstract: The present invention provides a low-pressure scroll compressor for use in a refrigerating system of an air conditioning apparatus or the like. Lubricating oil is intermittently supplied to a compressor unit in proportional relation to the rotating number of the motor, avoiding an excessive or insufficient supply of a lubricating oil and realizing a proper supply of the lubricating oil even in high-speed rotation of the motor. Thus the compressor is highly reliable. Further, a screening plate is provided in the suction space of a compressor, so that the lubricating oil in the coolant or cooling medium can be effectively separated from the coolant, resulting in enhancement of collecting efficiency of the lubricating oil. Moreover, the screening plate is useful to prevent a hermetic terminal from being cooled by the returning coolant. Otherwise, dew condensation would occur on the hermetic terminal, and leakage or shortcircuiting would be caused, a vital obstacle to the safety of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4764096
Abstract: A scroll compressor for use as a refrigerant compressor in an air conditioner or as an air compressor. An orbiting scroll member of the compressor has a drive shaft integral therewith and received in a bore formed in an eccentric bearing which in turn is received in an elongated hole formed in an end surface of a crankshaft such that the eccentric bearing is slidable in the elongated hole. The elongated hole and the eccentric bearing are so sized that the orbiting scroll wrap and a cooperating stationary scroll wrap do not contact with each other. A constant minimum gap is left between both scroll wraps regardless of any change in the centrifugal force acting on the orbiting scroll member due to a change in the operation speed. In consequence, vibration and noise due to contact between both scroll wraps are remarkably reduced and the efficiency of the compressor is improved appreciably.
