  • Patent number: 7975588
Abstract: In a glass cutter wheel where a blade edge is formed on a disk-shaped wheel, grooves having a predetermined shape are formed at a predetermined pitch in a 1/4 or smaller or 3/4 or smaller blade edge line portion of the entire perimeter of the blade edge. The ratio of the groove portion to the entire perimeter, which largely contributes to a scribing characteristic, is changed such that a desired scribing characteristic can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7726715
Abstract: An etchable plate-shaped material is used as a vacuum suction pad 31. On one surface thereof, a large number of independent protruded portions and recessed portions are formed to provide a suction part 33b. Further, a periphery of the suction part is annularly formed to provide an airtight part 33a. When the vacuum suction pad 31 comes close to a substrate to be sucked, a skirt pad 32 with a slit 32d is integrally formed in the shape of a hemmed hat using an elastic member, in order to block outside air into a peripheral space of the vacuum suction pad 31. With this arrangement, it is possible to prevent the substrate from being locally deformed when the substrate is sucked by discharging air from a suction port 36 and to widen a clearance between the vacuum suction pad and the substrate such as a liquid crystal panel, at which the suction is possible.

  • Patent number: 7523846
Abstract: In a glass cutter wheel where a blade edge is formed on a disk-shaped wheel, grooves having a predetermined shape are formed at a predetermined pitch in a ¼ or smaller or ¾ or smaller blade edge line portion of the entire perimeter of the blade edge. The ratio of the groove portion to the entire perimeter, which largely contributes to a scribing characteristic, is changed such that a desired scribing characteristic can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20090050610
Abstract: During scribing processes of a brittle material substrate, the present invention prevents the generation of an unnecessary crack deriving in an unspecified and uncontrollable direction. The mother glass substrate is suction-chucked onto the first securing table and the second securing table via suction by a vacuum pump and that alike from suction holes set up on the surfaces of the first securing table and the second securing table. Unequal internal stresses existing at this time within the inner section of the mother glass substrate become erased once, by means of moving the first securing table and/or the second securing table for a micro distance along a predetermined direction. After adjusting the stresses towards a specific direction, scribing is to be conduct.

  • Patent number: 5228258
Abstract: A collapsible truss structure having a shape of a rectangular parallelepiped when expanded is an open truss framework made up of skeletal members pin jointed together by joint connectors to form sixteen rectangular bays, four of which have diagonal braces, and supports panels for covering one face of the structure. The joint connectors permit the structure to be folded by power means in two directions into a compact slab for storage and/or transportation with the panels assembled therewith, while elastically biasing means automatically unfold the structure into its expanded state. Planar, single-curvature, and double-curvature panels can be thus supported. This structure can be optionally assembled with other structures to form larger structural assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5040349
Abstract: A collapsible truss structure in a basic form comprises eight joint connectors, twelve skeletal bars pivotally connected at their ends by the joint connectors, a diagonal bar or bars, and a slide hinge, and in its expanded or deployed state is in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped formed by the twelve bars, the diagonal bar or bars being pivotally connected at its one end to one joint connector and extending diagonally within the deployed structure toward the most remote joint connector or connectors, near which the other end or ends of the diagonal bar or bars are pivotally connected to the slide hinge slidably fitted around one of the bars. The structure is collapsed by sliding the slide hinge away from said most remote joint connector. Lenghts of flexible bracing material can be stretched diagonally across bars of the structure to stably preserve the deployed state.

  • Patent number: 4771585
Abstract: A collapsible, or deployable, truss unit to be combined with a multiplicity of other similar units for the construction of, typically, medium to large size frameworks for use in outer space. Generally of boxlike shape when deployed, the truss unit comprises two opposite end truss assemblies of rectangular or quadrilateral shape, and an intermediate truss assembly of similar shape interposed therebetween and linked thereto via additional truss members. Two opposite ones of the four truss members of the intermediate truss assembly have each a movable hinge assembly mounted thereto for longitudinal displacement. Each movable hinge assembly has two diagonal truss members pivoted thereto each at one end, the other ends of the diagonal truss members being pivoted to the respective end truss assemblies.
