  • Patent number: 5396943
Abstract: A pneumatic tire for a two-wheeled vehicle, which includes a carcass having opposite end portions turned up axially outwardly around a pair of bead cores spaced apart from each other in the direction of the tire-rotating axis, a tread and a pair of sidewalls reinforced by the carcass, and a belt consisting of at least one belt layer arranged between the tread and the carcass, said carcass consisting of at least one carcass ply of organic fiber cords arranged at a constant angle of 75.degree. to 90.degree. relative to the tire equatorial plane. At least one belt layer is made of organic fiber cords arranged substantially in parallel with the tire equatorial plane, and after vulcanization an average tension of the cords of said at least one belt layer at the central portion of the tread at an elongation upon the respective cords being more than 10% is higher than that of the cords of the belt layer at the side edge portion of the tread at substantially the same elongation upon the respective cords.

  • Patent number: 5355926
Abstract: A pneumatic radial tire for a two-wheeled vehicle, including a carcass constituted by at least one carcass ply composed of cords extending at an angle of 75.degree. to 90.degree. with respect to an equatorial plane of the tire, and a belt constituted by at least two belt plies. The belt plies is arranged radially outwardly on an outer peripheral side of a crown portion of the carcass, and composed of cords extending substantially in a circumferential direction of the tire. The number of the cords per unit width of an outermost belt ply is in a range of 30% to 80% of that of a belt ply adjacent radially inwardly to the outermost belt ply as considered on the average over the entire width of the belt.

  • Patent number: 5339878
Abstract: A pneumatic tire for motorcycles comprises a tread, a pair of sidewalls each toroidally extending from each side end of the tread, a carcass comprised of at least one cord ply arranged at a cord angle of 75.degree.90.degree. with respect to an equator of the tire, and a belt arranged between the tread and the carcass and comprised of at least two cord layers. In this tire, the belt is comprised of at least innermost cord layer located at a carcass side and at least one cord layer located at a tread side and comprised of a cord spirally wound in the circumferential direction of the tire so as to extend in the widthwise direction of the tire, in which a widthwise end of at least one cord layer located at the carcass side is located within a particular region to tread width and sidewall height.
