  • Patent number: 8164352
Abstract: A capacitance detecting apparatus which can detect the change in minute capacitance of a measuring object with high sensitivity comprises a signal generator, a differential amplifying circuit, and a detecting unit. The signal generator generates a probe signal w(t) to be applied to one end of the measuring object. The differential amplifying circuit amplifies differentially a response signal v1(t) developed at the other end of the measuring object in response to the application of the probe signal w(t) and the probe signal w(t). The detecting unit detects capacitance change of the measuring object based on the amplified signal v(t) from the differential amplifying circuit.

  • Patent number: 8130002
Abstract: A device for detecting polarization direction of a ferroelectric is provided. From a measurement signal provided through a probe disposed in contact with or near the surface of a ferroelectric, a demodulation means generates a detection signal having a signal level corresponding to a capacitance change of the ferroelectric due to application of an alternating electric field to a capacitor component formed in the ferroelectric directly below the probe. A synchronous detection means performs synchronous detection of the detection signal based on a synchronous signal and generates a polarization direction detection signal corresponding to the polarization direction of the ferroelectric. A pseudo-noise signal generation means generates a pseudo-noise signal with the same frequency as that of the electric field signal and a different phase and amplitude therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7945962
Abstract: In a two-dimensional probe array, an interval between the leading ends of probes adjacent to each other in an X direction is made shorter than that between the leading ends of probes adjacent to each other in a Y direction. Thus, the leading ends of the probes are arranged to form a lattice wherein many rectangles are arranged. Furthermore, the lowest resonance frequency of an actuator which moves a recording medium in the X direction is set higher than the lowest resonance frequency of an actuator which moves the recording medium in the Y direction. At the time of recording or reading information, the recording medium is reciprocated in the X direction at a frequency substantially equal to the lowest resonance frequency of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 7697583
Abstract: A semiconductor laser driving device is mounted on an information recording and reproduction device, and is suitably used for recording and reproducing information. The semiconductor laser driving device includes: a semiconductor laser for emitting a laser light; and a temperature detection unit for detecting a temperature of the semiconductor laser. The semiconductor laser driving device changes the output of the laser light based on the detected temperature. Thus, the semiconductor laser driving unit can suitably improve response characteristics of the semiconductor laser, irrespective of the temperature of the semiconductor laser. Therefore, the semiconductor laser driving device can ensure recording performance onto an optical disc without being affected by the temperature of the semiconductor laser.

  • Publication number: 20090252004
Abstract: A light beam output control device is provided, which can adequately perform a negative feedback control for different light beams. An optical pickup device 100 calculates an error between a detection voltage, a laser, and a target value of each kind of the detected laser beams. If the calculated error is not in a predetermined range for each kind of the laser beams, the optical pickup device makes each kind of the laser beams correspond to the error, changes a correction amount of the error when a negative feedback control is performed, and corrects the error on the basis of the correction amount corresponding to each kind of the laser beams, thereby performing a negative feedback control.
