    Abstract: A front body structure of a vehicle and a method of assembling the front vehicle body in such a manner that a nose unit having at least both a shroud panel and a shroud upper is mounted to a front vehicle body having on both right and left sides front fenders. A mounting portion is provided further inboard or lower than a mounting portion for the front fender. A fixing portion fixed to the mounting portion is formed on both ends of the shroud upper constructing the nose unit. Furthermore, a step portion which is a mounting portion for the nose unit is formed on the upper portion of the engine room and on further front and lower than the monting portion for the front fender mounted to the vehicle body.

    Abstract: An automobile rear body structure includes a roof panel, for forming an upper surface of a roof portion of a vehicle body, which is provided with an integrally formed downwardly extending portion to form an outer surface of a rear pillar at a rear side portion thereof. The rear body structure also includes a rear fender panel joined to a lower end of the downwardly extending portion for forming an outer surface of a rear side wall, a quarter panel located inside the rear fender panel, and a reinforcement member for connecting the rear fender panel and the quarter panel at a location near a lower end of the rear pillar. The reinforcement member may be formed by bending the rear fender panel inwardly from a joint between the rear fender panel and the downwardly extending portion of the roof panel. Alternatively, the reinforcement member may be formed of a separate reinforcement element.

    Abstract: A side door assembly in an automobile body structure for selectively opening and closing an access opening includes a generally rectangular double-walled door panel structure having a windowpane chamber and a windowpane slot both defined therein. A windowpane is supported for movement between elevated and lowered positions through the windowpane slot such that the windowpane in the lowered position can be substantially concealed within the windowpane chamber. The side door assembly also comprises a window sash mounted on the door panel structure so as to extend above the windowpane slot. This window sash has a front sash portion, a generally horizontally extending sash portion continued from the front sash portion and a generally upright rear sash portion continued from the horizontally extending sash portion. There is also provided a bezel mounted on the door panel structure at a location rearwardly of the upright sash portion and at a level above the waist level of an individual.

    Abstract: A fascia set plate for mounting thereon the upper end portion of a soft fascia and right and left wind-guide side panels for guiding air introduced from the front of a vehicle body to a radiator are provided in front of a radiator shroud panel, and the lower end portions of the wind-guide side panels are connected to right and left side frames, respectively, thereby supporting the fascia set plate by the right and left wind-guide side panels. That is, a channel-like structure which is superior in strength is defined by the pair of wind-guide side panels and the fascia set plate as viewed from the front of the vehicle body, and forces exerted on the soft fascia are borne by the side frames by way of the channel-like structure.

    Abstract: An automobile rear window structure for closing a rear window opening formed in an automobile body, the opening having front and rear edges and opposite sides. The window closing structure includes a pair of rear pillars extending along both sides of the rear window opening and having trough sections formed therein. Transparent material closing the rear opening includes a rear section and a pair of side sections positioned on opposite sides of the rear section. The side sections have transverse curvatures which are contiguous with a transverse curvature of the rear section. The rear section is formed separately from the side sections and is arranged to cover the rear window opening and has an upper end hinged to the body for swinging movement between closed and open positions.
