    Abstract: A resin for magnetic coating, which is a copolymer composed of(1) at least 60% by weight of vinyl chloride units,(2) 0.3 to 5.0% by weight, as the carboxyl group, of monomer units containing a carboxyl group,(3) 0.1 to 2.0% by weight, as the hydroxyl group, of monomer units containing the group --X--OH wherein X is an organic group, and(4) up to 20% by weight of units of another monomer,the equivalent ratio of the hydroxyl groups to the carboxyl groups being from 0.1 to 3.0.
