Publication number: 20050117358Abstract: In a vehicle lighting apparatus in which the irradiation direction of lamps provided at the left and right portions of an automobile can be deflected to the left and right directions in association with the steering operation of a steering apparatus, the deflection angles of the left and right lamps are changed in different manners in accordance with a vehicle speed, for example. For example, at the time of steering to the right, when a vehicle speed is a predetermined value or less, only the right lamp is subjected to the deflecting operation, while when a vehicle speed exceeds the predetermined value, both the right and left lamps are simultaneously subjected to the deflecting operation. The deflection angles of the left and right lamps are differentiated in accordance with the speed change of an automobile.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2004Publication date: June 2, 2005Inventors: Kiyotaka Fukawa, Masao Okawa, Naohisa Tatara, Makoto Izawa, Takahisa Nakamura

Publication number: 20050018438Abstract: The deflection angles of the irradiation of lamps provided at the left and right portions of an automobile are continuously increased in correspondence to the increase of a steering angle until the steering angle reaches a predetermined value. The left and right lamps are held at particular deflection angles respectively when the steering angle is equal to or more than a predetermined steering angle. The value of the particular deflection angle of the lamp on the steering direction side is made larger than that of the lamp on the opposite side. When the deflection angle is small, the left and right lamps are deflected in almost the same state to irradiate the straight traveling direction or the traveling direction of an automobile. When the deflection angle becomes large, the lamp on the steering direction side irradiates the traveling direction and the lamp on the opposite direction irradiates an area in the straight traveling direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2004Publication date: January 27, 2005Inventors: Kiyotaka Fukawa, Masahito Naganawa

Publication number: 20040213012Abstract: A first shade 32 is properly moved to vertically shift the position of a cutoff line, and furthermore, a lighting unit 20 is properly tilted in a vertical direction to displace a whole light distribution pattern in the vertical direction. Consequently, a light irradiation is carried out with a light distribution pattern at an irradiation angle corresponding to a vehicle traveling situation. In that case, a second shade 34 is properly moved to form a dark portion in a central part on the lower end of the light distribution pattern in a predetermined size if necessary. Consequently, the amount of a light irradiation on a short-distance region can be controlled finely, and a road surface on this side can be prevented from becoming too bright in a high-speed travel and a light reflected by the road surface which causes a glare can be prevented from being generated in a rain travel.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2004Publication date: October 28, 2004Inventors: Kiyotaka Fukawa, Tomoyuki Moritani, Masahito Naganawa

Patent number: 6805472Abstract: The lighting directions of a plurality of lamps RL and LL are controlled independently or integrally corresponding to a running condition. When a vehicle changes a running direction, the direction of the optical axis of one of the lamps is deflected earlier in the running direction and the direction of the optical axis of the other lamp is maintained in a straight running direction in a running condition in which other cars or obstacles might be present in the straight running direction of the vehicle, and the direction of the optical axis of the other lamp is deflected with a delay upon receipt of a further steering operation. It is possible to carry out an illumination in the running direction and the straight running direction of the vehicle. In particular, the invention is very effective for maintaining the safety running of the vehicle on an intersection road or at time of a lane change.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2002Date of Patent: October 19, 2004Assignee: Koito Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Kiyotaka Fukawa

Publication number: 20040178739Abstract: Lamp units for radiating a beam ahead of a vehicle in a light distribution pattern are housed in a lamp body. Illumination of the auxiliary lamp units is controlled based on driving conditions. Illumination control means extinguish light through dimming by gradually decreasing voltage applied to the light sources. When the applied voltage has dropped to a threshold value, the applied voltage is controlled to zero immediately. Compared to when the lamps remaining in an illuminated state are suddenly extinguished, a change in, quantity of light is mild, and no uncertainty arises. Below a threshold value where the applied voltage gradually drops to the threshold value and a change may arise in the filament crystalline structure due to annealing at a transition temperature, the applied voltage approaches zero. Hence, the filament does not pass from the transition temperature while being rapidly cooled, thus avoiding filament crystalline structure change.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2004Publication date: September 16, 2004Applicant: KOITO MANUFACTURING CO., LTD.Inventors: Yasuyoshi Numajiri, Ken Kato, Shigeyoshi Yotoriyama, Kiyotaka Fukawa, Masao Okawa

Publication number: 20030145211Abstract: In an internal circuit type, an encryption circuit is included in a device. Information specific to the device including the encryption circuit is preregistered to a net authentication site. A portable storage medium is inserted into an information recording/reproduction mechanism of the device, and an access is made to the net authentication site with a host PC. When a right to access to the net authentication site is obtained, the net authentication site reads shared information stored on the portable storage medium, and makes a comparison between the shared information and the contents of a database. If a match is found as a result of the comparison, the net authentication site writes devices-specific information to the shared information on the portable storage medium, so that encrypted data on the portable storage medium can be read with the device.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2002Publication date: July 31, 2003Applicant: FUJITSU LIMITEDInventor: Kiyotaka Fukawa

Publication number: 20030067763Abstract: A vehicle light apparatus which serves to change a lighting range of a lamp L for illuminating a forward part of the vehicle corresponding to a steering angle of the vehicle comprises lighting range control means for turning the lighting range into an opposite direction to a current steering direction when steering is returned into a straight running direction. When a steering angular velocity is greater than a predetermined value, a lighting range for illuminating an opposite side is increased following the return of the steering into the straight running direction. A next curve or the course of an intersection road can be illuminated prior to the steering operation in a running condition on an S-shaped road or an intersection road in which right and left turns continue. Thus, the vehicle light apparatus is very effective for maintaining the safe running of the vehicle on a curved road and an intersection road.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2002Publication date: April 10, 2003Applicant: KOITO MANUFACTURING CO., LTDInventor: Kiyotaka Fukawa
