Abstract: An optical head 12 reproduces information recorded on an optical disc 11, a BCA detector 21 and a medium discriminating circuit 22 acquire waveform distortion information for specifying a waveform distortion of a reproduction signal reproduced by the optical head 12, and a variable waveform equalizer 16 changes a parameter used in a distortion reduction processing for reducing the waveform distortion of the reproduction signal based on the waveform distortion information.

Abstract: Provided is a clip which can be easily detached from a mounting hole solely by pulling a base portion thereof in any one direction. A clip (10) is equipped with a base portion (20) to engage with a front-side peripheral edge of a mounting hole (5), and a locking leg (30) to engage with a back-side peripheral edge of the mounting hole (5). The locking leg (30) has a stem portion (40) and a pair of elastic engagement members (50) extending in an anchor-fluke-like fashion from the forward ends of the stem portion (40) and having at their forward ends engagement portions (51) to engage with the back-side peripheral edge of the mounting hole (5). An axis (C) of the stem portion (30) and a line (L) connecting the centers of the engagement portions (51) of the pair of elastic engagement members (50) are offset from each other as seen in an axial direction of the stem portion (40).

Abstract: A magnetic head comprises a first abutting segment formed with a winding groove having an open side, and a second abutting segment opposed to the open side of the groove and joined to the first segment. The first abutting segment comprises a first core segment having the groove, and gap spacers and second ferromagnetic thin films formed on the surface thereof opposed to the second segment and positioned above and below the groove. The first core segment comprises a core segment member made of a ferromagnetic material, formed with the groove and having a first ferromagnetic thin film which is formed on the surface thereof opposed to the second abutting segment and which is positioned toward the face of the head to be opposed to recording media. The second abutting segment has a face to be opposed to the recording medium and formed by a nonmagnetic material.
