  • Patent number: 5379553
Abstract: A door structure for a vehicle includes an outer module including an inner panel and an outer panel connected to the inner panel. The inner panel has an opening defined in part by first and second edges having a distance L1 therebetween. The door structure also includes a regulator module having an inner frame which is fixed to the inner panel, a regulator fixed to the inner frame, and a window panel fixed to the regulator and being movable by the regulator between first and second positions. The window panel has a maximum width L2, an edge sloped relative to a horizontal plane and a corner opposite from the sloped edge such that a distance L3 between the corner and the sloped edge, as measured along an imaginary line intersecting the sloped edge at a right angle, is less than L1, and L2 is greater than L1. A method for assembling the door structure includes rotating the regulator module so that it may pass between the first and second edges.

  • Patent number: 5355629
Abstract: A door for a vehicle is assembled by joining three modules together to facilitate the assembly process. The three modules are an outer module including an outer panel, a window regulator module including a window pane and a window regulator, and an inner module including an interior member. The window regulator module is preliminarily assembled as an independent unit, so that it is easy to adjust the open and closed positions and the movement of the window pane. These modules are joined by fastening means extending along the direction of the thickness of the door, so that the assembly operation is made easier.

  • Patent number: 4592586
Abstract: A car roof structure includes a frame flange protruding nearly perpendicularly from the top surface of the front, rear, and side roof rails that surround the edges of the ceiling of the car space. A weather strip is attached around the frame flange for enabling it to make a snug contact with the bottom surface of a roof panel which, covering the roof rails, is allowed to be put on and taken off at will.Installing brackets are provided on the interior side of the front roof rail and the rear roof rail to have the roof panel fixed onto the roof rails by hooking a plurality of catch handles which are provided on the bottom surface of the roof panel to the installing brackets.

  • Patent number: 4315134
Abstract: A first group of heating filaments is printed on a main section of a wrap-around type rear windowscreen and second and third groups of heating filaments each having a reduced width are printed on side sections of the rear windowscreen between which the main section is interposed. The second and third groups of heating filaments are integrally connected, in one to one relation, to the first group of heating filaments at ridges of the windowscreen by which ridges the main section and the side sections are bound respectively. First highly conductive strips to which the second and third groups of heating filaments are terminated are respectively printed on the side sections. Second highly conductive strips are printed on the ridges to extend along the same while crossing the connecting parts of the first and second, and the first and third groups of heating filaments to connect the same.

  • Patent number: 4286980
Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a bent plate glass using a forming bed, in which a plate glass mounted on the forming bed is locally heated along a heating line whereby the plate glass is locally softened, after first heating the entire flat plate glass. The heating line is positioned offset from a desired bending line and curved outwardly therefrom whereby the heating line becomes coincident with the desired bending line due to transformation of the initial heating line as the plate glass deforms under its own weight as it is heated to softening temperature.
