  • Patent number: 10277980
Abstract: To enhance the sound quality in the case where a directional speaker is used to allow a user to hear sounds coming from various directions. An information processing apparatus includes sound data acquisition means for acquiring data indicative of one piece of audio including treble audio and bass audio, volume determination means for determining a volume of the bass audio and a volume of the treble audio on the basis of a distance from a reflection position at which a sound from a high directional speaker is reflected to a user and a distance from a low directional speaker lower in directionality than the high directional speaker to the user, and speaker control means for making the low directional speaker output the bass audio and the high directional speaker output the treble audio on the basis of the determined volumes.

  • Patent number: 9699227
Abstract: In a media server, a registration processing block registers a client apparatus connectable to the media server and an information provision block provides information related with the registered client apparatus to an information processing apparatus. In the information processing apparatus, when an information acquisition block acquires information related with two or more client apparatuses, then a display processing block generates display data for displaying type identification information and device identification information for each client apparatus. The type identification information is a name of the client apparatus and the device identification information is a MAC address.

  • Patent number: 9641887
Abstract: In a storage system, client devices and storage devices are connected to a network. An application for controlling the recording function of the storage device is installed on the client device. The client device, which accesses the storage device, is provided with a user interface with which a user operates the storage device. The storage device has a network attached storage (NAS) function and a recording function, and the storage device has no interface of its own with which to operate. A plurality of the storage devices are connectable to the network. When the client device registers the plurality of storage devices connected to the network, the client device accesses the plurality of storage devices registered and provides the user with a single user interface.

  • Patent number: 9446325
Abstract: Provided is a communication processing module, which is compatible with various kinds of devices to be operated by an operation input device. The communication processing module for the device to be operated receives any one of a standard operation signal specifying a standard action and a specific operation signal specifying an action unique to the device to be operated, which are transmitted by the operation input device. When the received operation signal is the standard operation signal, the communication processing module causes the device to be operated to execute an action corresponding to a content of the operation signal, and when the received operation signal is the specific operation signal, transfers data contained in the signal to a unique processing module. The unique processing module causes the device to be operated to execute an action corresponding to a content of the data transferred from the communication processing module.

  • Publication number: 20150058896
Abstract: In a media server, a storage unit 50 records content. A status management unit 32 acquires status information related to the media server from inside or outside. By referencing an icon table, an icon selection unit 34 selects an icon image corresponding to the acquired status information. When an icon providing unit 36 provides the selected icon image to an information processing device, the information processing device displays the provided icon image on a menu screen.

  • Patent number: 8949115
Abstract: In an audio output terminal device, a buffer control unit adjusts the buffer size of a jitter buffer in accordance with the setting of a sound output mode instructed in an instruction receiving unit. If the instruction receiving unit acknowledges an instruction for setting an audio output mode that requires low delay in outputting sound, the buffer control unit reduces the buffer size of the jitter buffer. Further, the buffer control unit controls, in accordance with the instructed setting of the sound output mode, timing for allowing a media buffer to transmit one or more voice packets to the jitter buffer.

  • Publication number: 20150006626
Abstract: In an information processing apparatus 58 for displaying a connection relation between a server and a client, an information acquisition block 62 acquires client information from the server. A display processing block 64 displays the connection relation between the server and the client apparatus 20 in a tree structure with the server being a root node by use of the acquired client information. The display processing block 64 connects information indicative of the server to information indicative of the client apparatus 20 with a line in accordance with a connection type between the server and the client apparatus 20, thereby displaying the connection relation in the tree structure.
