  • Publication number: 20050014996
Abstract: An optical adaptor and an endoscope device provides a means which can identify an optical adaptor to be used accurately, thus enabling misoperation by a user to be prevented. A construction is adopted wherein an optical adaptor incorporates an IC chip in which identification information and optical characteristic information of the optical adaptor is stored, and the tip of an endoscope insertion section is provided with an antenna which obtains the identification information and optical characteristic information from the identification IC chip.

  • Publication number: 20040054256
Abstract: A measurement endoscope system comprises an electronic endoscope, an image processing unit, a control device, a display device, a first reference line designation block, a first reference plane designation block, a contour border designation block, and an arithmetic and logic block. The electronic endoscope has an imaging unit. The image processing unit receives an imaging signal sent from the imaging unit and produces a video signal. The control device has at least a control unit that includes a measurement processing block which performs measurement processing on the basis of an image signal produced by the image processing unit. The display device receives the video signal transmitted in response to a direction given by the control unit included in the control device, and displays an image represented by the video signal.

  • Publication number: 20040030221
Abstract: An endoscope system comprises an electronic endoscope, a plurality of types of optical adapters, a control device, and a display device. The electronic endoscope includes an imaging unit. The plurality of types of optical adapters includes a predetermined observational optical system and is freely detachably attached to the distal section of the electronic endoscope. The observational optical system incorporated in each optical adapter includes an identification section with which the type of optical adapter is identified. The control device is electrically connected to the electronic endoscope.

  • Publication number: 20020191074
Abstract: A processing unit includes an estimating unit for estimating three-dimensional coordinates at an arbitrary point on an observation image and obtaining the estimation result and the reliability of the estimation result. A concave and convex datum line setting unit estimates the reliability of a point on the cut-off datum line or on an extending line of the cut-off datum line based on the reliability of the estimation result of the estimating unit, extracts only a point whose reliability is high and setting both new ends, and sets a concave and convex datum line as a predetermined datum based on both the new ends. The concave and convex datum line setting unit sets a concave and convex datum line as a predetermined datum for processing the cross-section information to create concave and convex information indicating a relative concave and convex state with respect to the predetermined datum based on both the set new ends.

  • Publication number: 20020183590
Abstract: A processing unit includes a positional relationship information extracting unit for extracting first information on a positional relationship of an optical adaptor by performing the image processing of a signal transmitted from the image pick-up unit upon capturing the image of a predetermined subject, a storing device for storing the first information on the positional relationship, a of comparing and determining unit for comparing the first information on the positional relationship stored in the storing device with second information on the positional relationship which is extracted again by the extracting unit when replacing the optical adaptor by using the tip of an endoscope insertion portion, and a notifying unit for notifying a determination result based on determination information from the comparing and determining unit.

  • Publication number: 20020137986
Abstract: An imaging unit composed of a pair of objective lens systems and an imaging device that photoelectrically converts optical images into image signals is incorporated in the distal portion of an inserting section of an endoscope. The pair of objective lens systems is arranged in order to pick up images while viewing an object from a plurality of viewing points. Optical images having traveled through the pair of objective lens systems are converged on the imaging device. A measuring device consists mainly of a camera control unit (CCU), a video capture circuit, a host computer, and a console. The CCU converts image signals, which result from photoelectric conversion performed by the imaging device, into video signals according to which images are displayed on a monitor. The video capture circuit converts the produced video signals into digital image signals. The host computer serving as an arithmetic unit performs arithmetic operations needed for measurement using the resultant digital image signals.
