  • Patent number: 8056981
Abstract: A seat apparatus includes a reclining device and a power assist mechanism coupled to the reclining device through a coupling rod. The power assist mechanism includes a motor; a seat back-side bracket which is tiltably provided to move the seat back; an operational gear which is turnable depending on a rotational direction of the motor; a rod gear provided integrally with the coupling rod; and a lever gear having a gear part capable of being engaged with the rod gear and an engaging part capable of being engaged with the operational gear. The lever gear transmits the turning of the operational gear to the rod gear.

  • Publication number: 20110095584
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a seat apparatus enabling noise reduction and size reduction of a rotation transmitting mechanism. This seat apparatus is provided with a rotation transmitting mechanism capable of transmitting rotation to each of adjusting mechanisms. This rotation transmitting mechanism includes a motor, a worm, and two worm wheels each meshed with the worm and arranged in proximity to each other. This rotation transmitting mechanism also includes four clutch members. Each clutch member is interposed between corresponding one of the adjusting mechanisms and corresponding one of the worm wheels. Each clutch member is configured such that it can be switched between a transmission state and an interruption state. In the transmission state, rotation via the worm wheel can be transmitted to the corresponding adjusting mechanism. In the interruption state, on the other hand, transmission of the rotation is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 7500719
Abstract: A seat apparatus allows a seat back to incline forward and to return to an upright position under control from a position inside a passenger vehicle away from the seat. A wire and an operation member are interlocked with an unlocking lever of a reclining unit. The apparatus can include a driving unit which can cause the seat back to incline forward. A rotation unit can be included in a reclining unit. When a notch on a rotating sector gear in the rotation unit comes into contact with a projection on a seat back side bracket, the seat back can be raised from an inclined position to a more upright position.

  • Publication number: 20080100115
Abstract: [Object] An object of the present invention is to provide a seat apparatus capable of causing a seat back to incline forward and to return from a position away therefrom like a driver's seat without using a large device. [Solving Means] A wire 25 and operation member 16, which are interlocked with an unlocking lever 24 of a reclining unit 2, can be operated by means of a driving unit 3, and a seat back 12 can be caused to incline forward from a position away therefrom in the interior of a vehicle. A rotation unit 4 is provided to the reclining unit 2, and by causing a notch 44b of a sector gear 44 provided to the rotation unit 4 to come into contact with a projection 26 formed on a seat back side bracket 21 and rotate them, the seat back 12 can be raised from a position away therefrom in the interior of the vehicle.
