Abstract: The dishwasher according to the present invention has two operation courses: one course adapted for using a low-foaming dedicated detergent; and the other course adapted for using a high-foaming kitchen detergent. In the kitchen detergent course, the dishwashing operation includes a first mode of the “spray and wait” process carried out as a preliminary washing operation, including the steps of spraying the water containing a detergent onto the dishes for a short period of time and subsequently halting the spray for a certain period of time. During this process, the amount of the foam present within the wash chamber is determined by means of a photosensor located within the drying duct. If there is a large amount of foam, a longer period of time is set for draining the detergent water. After the water is drained for the aforementioned period of time, fresh water is supplied to a predetermined level.

Abstract: A dish washing machine according to the present invention comprises a first nozzle for spraying wash water toward dishes contained in an upper basket, a second nozzle for spraying wash water toward dishes contained in a lower basket, and a change over means for changing over between supplying and not supplying wash water to the first nozzle. In the dish washing using both of the upper basket and the lower basket, an upper and lower washing operation for spraying wash water from both of the first nozzle and the second nozzle and a lower washing operation for spraying wash water only from the second nozzle are mixedly carried out.

Abstract: A dish washing machine according to the present invention carries out a soaking step in a kitchen detergent course. In this step, a water supplying and draining FD1 for 25 seconds (water supplying for 4 seconds) is carried out (step E6), and thereafter a water supplying and draining FD2 for 30 seconds (water supplying for 22 seconds) is carried out(step E8). Thereby, a larger amount of wash water is flowed into a washing and draining pump, and foam left in a washing tank and foam stored in the washing and draining pump can be well discharged together with tap water supplied into the washing tank at a washing and draining time to the outside of the dish washing machine.

Abstract: A dish washing machine according to the present invention carries out, in a kitchen detergent course, a soaking step for spraying a wash water stored in a containing tank toward dishes and leaving the dishes for a predetermined time precedent to a washing step. In the soaking step, a low temperature soaking is carried out in which the wash water in a washing tank is kept at about 30° C. (temperature appropriate for removing soils containing protein ingredients with a kitchen detergent, especially a neutral detergent), and thereafter a high temperature soaking is carried out in which the wash water in the washing tank is kept at about 50° C. Thereby, the soils containing protein ingredients attached to the dishes can be well removed away with the kitchen detergent.

Abstract: In an inventive spin extractor, a speed controller applies a constant voltage to a motor for starting a rotation of a drum. Since the torque on the drum is constant, the drum rotates at a low speed when the laundry is in the form of a large mass and the load on the drum is accordingly large. Every time part or all of the laundry falls beyond the baffles provided on the inner peripheral wall of the drum, the laundry is loosened and scattered, so that the load on the drum decreases. When the laundry is scattered adequately, the torque by the motor overcomes the load of the laundry, and the drum speed rapidly rises. When the speed exceeds the equilibrium speed where the centrifugal force acting on the laundry is equal to gravity, the scattered laundry starts rotating in the state of being pressed on the inner peripheral wall of the drum.
