    Abstract: The invention provides a fitting (1) for e.g. a horse, cow or similar hooved or cloven-hooved animal. The fitting comprises a shank (2) and a blade (3), the shank being suitable for being driven into a horn wall (9) of the hoof or cloven-hoof of the animal and thus being capable of holding the fitting to the hoof or cloven-hoof, and the blade having a bottom surface (10) to abut against a bottom edge (11) of the horn wall, and an upper surface (12) suitable as plantar surface of the animal.
