  • Patent number: 5980155
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel geosynthetic which in a first embodiment comprises a composite geosynthetic comprising reinforcement material embedded in a drainage material; and in the second embodiment of the invention there is provided an electrically conducting geosynthetic which may be used in isolation or which may, alternatively, form a part of the composite geosynthetic.

  • Patent number: 5532052
Abstract: A camouflage material having radar screening properties is comprised of a warp-knitted fabric, so-called Raschel fabric, which includes yarn into which metal fibres have been spun. The yarn is laid with a lay-out technique such that the sum of the extensions of the yarn will be generally the same in each direction in the plane of the fabric. The fabric is suitably stabilized with a sheet that lacks metal fibres, which may either be a yarn layer in the warp-knitted fabric or a through-knitted fabric, preferably a nonwoven fabric coated with a reflective metal layer.

  • Patent number: 5415007
Abstract: A fabric intended to serve as an insert in working trousers or trouser legs for power-saw operators. The fabric consists of two layers, viz. a carrier layer or passive layer, wherein the threads interconnect the threads of the active layer, i.e. the layer wherein on account of the contraction of the passive layer threads caused by suitable treatment of them, the threads of the active layer are forced to take on a sinuous configuration whereby at their contact with the saw chain the sinuous sections will be caught by the chain, and the threads of the active layer by pulled out and thus so heavily oppose the movement of the saw chain that the latter is immobilized.

  • Patent number: 4395336
Abstract: A liquid-absorbing textile product which is in the form of a double-layer fabric wherein the two layers are interwoven by pile threads of a hydrophobic and oleophilic synthetic material. The resulting product is very manageable and capable of absorbing considerable quantities of oil despite its low weight.

  • Patent number: 4310718
Abstract: In a welding current cable of coaxial type, the conductors for one current direction are arranged essentially parallel to each other and freely movable transversely with respect to each other as a conductor bundle located centrally in the liquid-impermeable cable casing. The central conductor bundle is surrounded at a distance by a textile body, similar to a wrap knit stocking, with annular cross section and running along the length of the cable. The textile body has on its outside radially projecting longitudinal ribs between which the conductors are laid for the opposite current direction. In the spaces between cable casing, conductors and textile body, coolant flows along the length of the cable, and the porous textile body also permits transverse coolant flow.

  • Patent number: 4280342
Abstract: A protective pad or garment for use as a guard against injuries to the human body or parts thereof, incurred e.g. from saw blades or other sharp tools. The pad is made from a double-knit warp fabric of a synthetic material, the two layers of which are interconnected by pile threads, preferably consisting of polypropylene foil strips, which pile threads in at least one of said layers form meshes with the threads of another thread system, or with themselves. The resulting pad comprises a large number of the pile threads which by their nature and their bond to the mesh layer closest to the body resist the cutting effect of the saw blade or other sharp tool that may penetrate through the outer mesh layer.

  • Patent number: 4195364
Abstract: A garment intended to be worn closest to the skin during vigorous physical activities in warm environments. The garment comprises a comparatively open warp knit fabric into the base of which are bound vertically extending cords. The warp knit fabric base is a mesh fabric consisting of thermo-settable synthetic fibres and is set to retain its shape, whereby it forces the cords to be displaced in parallel laterally upon movements, the cords being in contact with the skin. On account of its rigidity, the fabric provides an improved pumping effect upon relative movements between the garment and the body, thus improving the ventilation and carrying away of perspiration from the body. The garment has sufficient width to ensure that it is allowed to move unimpededly over the skin surface of the wearer.
