Abstract: A combined feed-out/feed-in device (20) serves to feed a coilable tubing (12, 12') out or in, respectively, in relation to a rotatable drum (10) during uncoiling and coiling, respectively, of the coilable tubing (12, 12') on the drum (10). The drum (10) is placed on a rack part (16) which is pivotally disposed in relation to a support rack (18) about an axis parallel to the rotational axis (14). In order to obtain a positioning of the feed-out/feed-in device (20), the drum (10) and the coilable tubing (12, 12') in mutual positions of readiness entailing an absolute minimum rigging time, the feed-out/feed-in device (20) is placed on the drum's (10) support rack (18), and an outer end connector (30) is permanently mounted on the outermost end of the coilable tubing (12, 12') after the tubing has been passed through said through-going passage (20').

Abstract: A device for coil tubing operations in connection with oil drilling, wherein a coil tubing (10) is adapted to carry one or more downhole tools and to supply circulation liquid to well and tool. The coil tubing has been coiled up on a rotatable drum (1) and is connected to a pump device for circulation liquid through a first swivel device (20) disposed at one end of the shaft (2) of the drum (1), and wherein within the coil tubing (10) hydraulic pipes (12, 14) and an electrical cable (16) have been passed to said downhole tool. The hydraulic pipes (12, 14) are connected to liquid pipelines (26, 28) through a second swivel device (24) at the other end of the shaft (2). The electrical cable (16) is connected to an electrical cable (34) through a third swivel device (32) at the other end of the shaft (2).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for use in coil pipe operations. A coil pipe (12) is coiled up on a rotary drum (10) and is fed out/in in relation to the drum (10) by means of a feeding device (14) having a rectilinear, through-going passage for the coil pipe (12). In order to reduce the number of straightenings/bendings of the coil pipe (12) to a minimum, the drum (10) is disposed in the immediate association with the feeding device (14), said drum (10) and said feeding device (14) being positioned and orientated such in relation to each other that an imaginary extension of the feeding device's coil pipe passage (16) extends substantially tangentially to the outer circumference of the coil pipe coil on the drum (10). This measure reduces the number of straightening/bending strains to one straightening upon the coil pipe's uncoiling and one bending upon the coil pipe's (12) coiling up on the drum.
