  • Patent number: 10729994
Abstract: A disc filter includes a filtrate holding tank disposed below a series of disc-shaped filter members supported on a drum. Filtrate from the holding tank is used to backwash filter media on the disc-shaped filter members. Filtrate is discharged from the holding tank via a filtrate conduit. Bypass water is directed through a bypass conduit in the disc filter and mixed with the filtrate downstream of the filtrate holding tank. This assures that the filtrate used to backwash the filter media does not include bypass water.

  • Patent number: 5995394
Abstract: A first MOS transistor of a specific conductive type and a second MOS transistor of the specific conductive type are combined in an electrostatic circuit protection. In the first MOS transistor, a drain thereof is connected to an output terminal or an input terminal and a source thereof is connected to a first power terminal. The first MOS transistor is turned on/off by a signal received by a gate or ordinarily turned off by holding the gate at a specific potential. In the second MOS transistor of the specific conductive type, a drain thereof is connected to the output terminal or the input terminal and a source thereof is connected to a gate of the first MOS transistor. The second MOS transistor is ordinarily turned off by connecting a gate thereof to the first power terminal.

  • Patent number: 5986903
Abstract: A plant for transmitting electric power between a direct voltage network and an alternating voltage network through a power station. A converter of a station has two current valves connected in series, each having one turn-on and turn-off type breaker and a diode connected anti-parallel therewith. Circuits are provided to detect the direction and the intensity of the current through the converter, as well as the current valve through which it flows to actuate the control apparatus on the basis of the detected current level and the identity of the valve carrying the current. The control apparatus operates to commutate current through the valve which is not carrying current when a detected current level in the current carrying valve exceeds a first predetermined level.

  • Patent number: 5917718
Abstract: A method and apparatus for eliminating overmodulation in a power plant is provided. The power plant has a direct voltage network connected to at least one alternating voltage network through a station. The station is adapted to transmit power between the direct voltage network and the alternating voltage network and includes at least one converter. The converter is adapted to convert direct voltage into alternating voltage and convert alternating voltage into direct voltage. The method comprises the steps of calculating a reference alternating voltage and measuring a direct voltage between two poles of a direct voltage side of the station. The reference voltage is divided by half of the direct voltage and this quotient is compared with a predetermined value. When the quotient exceeds the predetermined value, a first signal is sent to a means for controlling the converter.

  • Patent number: 5870293
Abstract: A system for transmitting electric power between a direct voltage network and alternating voltage networks through VSC-converters. A first station which transmits electric power is in voltage regulating mode. Switching members at a second station are adapted to be alternatingly switched in and out upon occurrence of a sudden change of power so as to alternatingly connect one of the poles of the direct voltage network through an associated resistance to ground. A ground current generated therethrough is detected by a ground current measuring member of the first station, which is thereby informed about the unbalance. The first station then takes corrective measures to reduce or eliminate the unbalance.
