  • Publication number: 20210161805
Abstract: A capsule includes a compressible reservoir and a gas generating unit disposed in a housing. A threshold valve seals an opening in the housing, through which contents of the reservoir may exit the capsule. Gas generated by the gas generating unit increases pressure in the capsule, thereby compressing the reservoir. When a pressure acting on the threshold valve reaches a threshold pressure, the threshold valve opens, releasing contents of the reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20190223846
Abstract: In some implementations of this disclosure, a fluid sampling device includes an outer housing formed as a capsule, i.e., configured for swallowing by a patient, such as a mammalian patient. In such implementations, the fluid sampling device may be configured to sample fluids in the GI tract.

  • Publication number: 20190046721
Abstract: In some implementations, a fluid delivery device includes a compressible dispensing chamber defining a dispensing volume and including a dispensing chamber inlet in fluid communication with a reservoir and a dispensing chamber outlet in fluid communication with an environment. A first one-way valve at the reservoir outlet or the dispensing chamber inlet selectively allows flow of the substance from the reservoir to the compressible dispensing chamber and a second one-way valve at the dispensing chamber outlet selectively allows flow of the substance from the dispensing chamber to the environment. An actuator selectively compresses the compressible dispensing chamber to decrease the dispensing volume and expel the substance in the dispensing chamber through the dispensing chamber outlet.

  • Publication number: 20180271752
Abstract: A system for administering a medicament includes a plurality of capsules, a capsule dispenser, and a capsule activator. Each of the capsules includes a reservoir containing a medicament and an outlet in communication with the reservoir through which the medicament exits the capsule. The capsule dispenser releasably contains the ingestible capsules and is adapted to dispense the capsules to a user in accordance with a predetermined schedule. The capsule activator activates the dispensed capsules prior to administration to the user.

  • Publication number: 20070163875
Abstract: The electrowetting cell (15) comprises an outer wall (90) and an inner wall (80), said outer wall (90) being provided with extensions (85, 86) extending at opposing sides of the inner wall (80). The cell (15) is further provided with a membrane (45) for volume expansion and is sealed through an electroplated layer (95).
