  • Patent number: 4337323
Abstract: Stabilized aqueous dispersions of vinyl chloride polymer having at least 25% by weight of vinyl chloride units in the polymer and having K values of between 20 and 80, having added as a stabilizing agent 0.3-6% by weight of substances selected from the group of compounds according to the general formula ##STR1## wherein n has the meaning of from 0 to 2 or water-soluble salts thereof. The invention also relates to a process of producing the stabilized products by adding the stabilizing agent after polymerization in aqueous dispersion, and to the use of the stabilized dispersions in binders, coating compositions, paints, adhesives, textile auxiliaries and paper-coating compositions.

  • Patent number: 4208319
Abstract: Organosilanes containing aliphatic double bonds and a process for preparing the same which comprises reacting an organic compound having more than one aliphatic double bond with a silane having an Si-bonded hydrogen atom and at least one hydrolyzable group and/or at least one group capable of being hydrolyzed more readily than the Si-bonded hydrogen atom in the presence of a catalyst which promotes the addition of Si-bonded hydrogen atoms to aliphatic double bonds. These organosilanes are used as reinforcing agents for compositions containing organic polymers which are crosslinked by means of sulfur or free radicals.

  • Patent number: 4062715
Abstract: An adhesion assistant or binder composition for bonding polyolefin surfaces with metal surfaces comprising an aqueous dispersion of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer from 0.5 to 5 parts by weight based on 100 parts of the copolymer of a cross-linking peroxide compound and from 1 to 10 parts by weight based on 100 parts of the copolymer of a low-molecular-weight 1,2-polybutadiene; as well as a process for producing composite bodies by heat and pressure utilizing the above adhesion assistant between polyolefin surfaces and metal surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4006201
Abstract: A process for the production of polyvinyl chloride graft copolymers from ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymers and vinyl chloride by graft polymerization in the aqueous phase consisting essentially of adding a water-soluble, free-radical-forming polymerization catalyst to an aqueous dispersion of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer optionally containing additional emulsifiers and/or dispersion stabilizers, heating said dispersion to the polymerization temperature, adding vinyl chloride gas above said agitated heated dispersion at such rate that the pressure is below the saturation pressure of vinyl chloride at the polymerization temperature, and recovering said polyvinyl chloride grafted copolymer.
