  • Patent number: 5277656
Abstract: An engine bonnet integrates a water separation facility while dispensing with expensive additional parts which were hitherto necessary in order to separate concomitantly entering water from the air for a heating and air-conditioning system flowing in via an air inlet situated in the engine bonnet or between the rear edge of the engine bonnet and the windscreen. The necessary inner reinforcement of the engine bonnet panel is configured in such a way along that side of the engine bonnet which is turned towards the windscreen that it simultaneously feeds the air stream entering via an air inlet in the engine bonnet to an air-fill chamber situated upstream of the air intake duct of the heating or air-conditioning system that water separation also occurs in addition.

  • Patent number: 5256104
Abstract: In the case of a multi-part housing of a heating or air-conditioning system, there is provided, in order to prevent the passage of an unfiltered portion of air conveyed by a fan, a space receiving the leakage air produced, which space is connected to the suction side of the fan. In order to obtain a modular unit which is economical in terms of installation space, each receiving air leakage is formed by the fact that a wall area of the suction housing is attached in one piece to a bottom part of the housing. The channel thus produced is covered by an outwardly pointing flange area of the suction housing top part, which forms, on the pressure side, connected to a bar separating, on the housing side, the pressure area from the suction area of the fan, the top part of the bottom part of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5095948
Abstract: A device for simultaneously adjusting at least two pivoted elements, in particular valves used for air distribution in a vehicle heating or air-conditioning system, has an operating unit with a control disc which is connected to a rotary knob and a control groove which is closed upon itself and into which at least two levers engage which are pivotably accommodated by the operating unit and whose pivoting movements are transmitted to the pivoted elements. Simple tolerance compensation and installation without subsequent setting work is possible when each lever has a separate pivot bearing. The pivoting movements, occurring when the control groove is followed, of the bearing pin of each lever, with a universal-joint arrangement in between which leads away essentially in the axial direction of the bearing pins and permits length compensation, are transmitted from the operating unit to pivoted levers mounted on the heating box side.

  • Patent number: 5050486
Abstract: In an air-conditioning system for vehicles, with a blower, evaporator, heat exchanger and air distributor box with air-outflow ports for at least one middle nozzle and for side nozzles, the air distributor box is connected directly by means of its inlet cross-section to the evaporator. The heat exchanger is arranged aproximately centrally in the air distributor box so as to subdivide the latter into a front and a rear space portion. An air-guide connection piece extends from the front space portion which leads to the middle nozzle and which is connected to the front space portion via a cold-air scoop flap and is in communication with the rear space portion via two bypass channels, in each of which a temperature control flap is arranged. Air-outflow ports for the side nozzles are arranged in the bypass channels. Thus, in the "maximum cooling" mode, cold air passes directly from the front space portion of the air distributor box into the middle and side nozzles and improves the cooling of the passenger space.
