  • Patent number: 11249006
Abstract: A device and method for reliably and accurately detecting impurities in a bulk material comprising two opposing tunnel sections arranged such that a bulk material stream flows between or through the tunnel sections. At least one of the tunnel sections has a lighting means configured for indirectly illuminating the bulk material stream. Furthermore, an optical detector receives the light emitted from the illuminated bulk material. The lighting means and optical detector are configured about the tunnel sections such that the optical radiation optical radiation does not pass directly from the lighting means to the bulk material, nor from the bulk material stream to the optical detector An evaluation apparatus, responsive to measured data from the optical detector, identifies impurities in the bulk material. The invention moreover relates to a method for operating such a device.

  • Patent number: 8516277
Abstract: A method for operating a control computer connected to a system to be controlled. The system is connected to a power supply line by a first switch, with the control computer being shut down by execution of a control command to enter an idle state. An uncoordinated switching of the control computer and the system is thereby avoided and operational reliability is increased.

  • Patent number: 7129711
Abstract: A device for controlling the manufacture of a medium or high voltage cable in particular of the inner and outer semi-conducting layers. For control purposes the current or capacitance is measured by a measuring electrode encircling the cable and connected to a high frequency source. Equipotential electrodes join the measuring electrodes on both sides.

  • Patent number: 5282112
Abstract: A backplane comprises several socket connectors that are arranged in parallel, side by side on a side that faces the modules. The socket connector has pins which form a pin field that face away from the modules. At least one bus comprises at least one bus line. A bus contact pin of each socket connector of the bus has an associated contact pin. These contact pins are electrically connected to each other with a bus line. Each contact pin can be electrically connected with a jumper plug to its associated bus contact pin. A backplane comprising a bus that extends beyond the modules is thus obtained where modules can be separated from the bus without having to pull the modules from their plug-in locations on a module carrier.

  • Patent number: 4007826
Abstract: A conveyor apparatus for elevating loose bulk material from one level to another, as in self-unloading ships, and more particularly a dual belt conveyor-elevator having a relatively long horizontal feed section, and further including a belt take-up apparatus and system including a normal pressure mode for tensioning the outer belt of the dual belt conveyor-elevator under normal operating conditions, the belt take-up apparatus and system also including a high pressure mode which is connected in tensioning relation to the outer belt of the dual belt conveyor-elevator upon loss of motive driving power to the dual belt conveyor-elevator. The high pressure mode is capable of substantially immediately taking up slack which develops in the outer belt, particularly in the horizontal feed portion thereof, with consequent prevention of spillage of load material, when the driving power for the dual belt conveyor-elevator is interrupted.
