  • Patent number: 8547249
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for avoiding a collision between a vehicle and another traffic participant. According to the inventive method, a cell phone carried by the traffic participant sends a signal including a position of the traffic participant. A processing unit processes the signal including the position of the traffic participant for a position or evaluation history. The processing unit determines an estimation of a future position of the traffic participant on the basis of the position or evaluation history. The processing unit evaluates a likelihood of a collision between the vehicle and the traffic participant on the basis of the estimated future position of the traffic participant and an estimation of a future position of the vehicle. An acceleration of the traffic participant is sensed by an acceleration sensor of the cell phone.

  • Patent number: 7116774
Abstract: The present invention presents a flexible method for source-based message routing in a network node, particularly also suitable for flexible load distribution of the traffic via a number of link sets terminating directly at an adjacent first network element. The method uses data structures which are often already available in existing systems or are simple to set up, of providing a number of link sets between two signaling points. A two-stage routing process is initiated based on the setting up of a message node, which supports a number of logical networks or signaling point codes. In the first stage a logical network is selected, in which the message is to be routed further. In the second stage the message is routed in the selected network.

  • Patent number: 7075947
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for converting point codes in a signal transfer point, STP, in a telecommunications signaling system. The STP includes a point code conversion function (500) which converts point codes designating the origination and destination signaling points for a signaling message. The conversion function can be incorporated between the signaling link layer (200) and the network layer (300) of the message transfer part, MTP, functionality of the STP.

  • Patent number: 6970550
Abstract: There may be applications where for IN-calls, one SCP begins processing a transaction for supporting a service but another SCP continues processing said transaction. The invention shows how such a continuation of processing can be carried out in cases where this can be solved in terms of protocol.

  • Publication number: 20030188014
Abstract: According to the invention, a connection is routed both via a slow, but broad-band path and via a high-speed, but narrow-band path. The slow path is used for the primary transport of the message. The second path is used for the retransmission requests and/or the retransmissions. There is thus little traffic on this path. The entire connection however has the delay characteristics of the slow path for a faultless transmission.

  • Publication number: 20020138639
Abstract: Both user data and monitoring information are transmitted in communication protocols. While (message) packets with user data are successively numbered in many protocols, thus ensuring that the user data are transmitted completely and with a protected sequence to the receiver, messages which contain only monitoring information are not normally successively numbered. This situation can lead to monitoring messages being overtaken, and thus to the rejection of current monitoring information. The invention describes how the rejection of current monitoring information can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 6023623
Abstract: A process for dynamic channel allocation in mobile radio networks, wherein priorities which are increased or decreased in dependence on interference occurring in the channel concerned are established for the individual channels. When the propagation conditions are satisfactory, channels with low priority can be allocated. The mean of values dependent on the extent of interference can be formed in order to increase and decrease the priority. In addition, various priority lists can be established for various interference or load situations, or both.

  • Patent number: 5844895
Abstract: The ATM communications network (NW) has a plurality of network nodes (NK1, NK2, NK3) connected with one another via at least one transmission medium, which respectively represent at least one signaling point, corresponding to a defined outband signaling. At least one virtual channel is respectively provided on the respective transmission medium between adjacent signaling points for the transmission of signaling information defined according to a network protocol and of network management information. At least one further virtual channel, allocated exclusively to the network management information, is respectively reserved on the respective transmission medium for the transmission of the network management information between adjacent signaling points.

  • Patent number: 4027490
Abstract: A self-sinking, axial passage foundation pile and method are provided. The pile is preformed with an axial bore which is capable of accommodating a rotatable shaft. At one end of the pile a drill bit is affixed to the shaft and at the other end a driving means is attached to the shaft in order to rotate the drill bit. In this configuration the rotational drilling torques are transmitted by the shaft without importing torque to the pile. Accordingly, the pile need not be specially reinforced to accommodate the bore hole drilling torques. Furthermore, the invention encompasses the novel method for installing the unique pile disclosed.
