    Abstract: Wastewater from the aldolization reaction is purified by adjusting its pH to 0 to 6, followed by extraction with monohydric alcohols having at least 8 carbon atoms, hydrocarbons having at least 6 carbon atoms, and mixtures thereof. In some cases, adjustment of the pH causes the formation of an organic phase, which is separated from the remaining wastewater before extraction.
