  • Patent number: 11536558
Abstract: A linear displacement measuring apparatus for determining an absolute position includes a linear rail composed of individual rail segments arranged after one another in the direction of a longitudinal axis. Each of the rail segments has a material measure which comprises at least one incremental track which extends along the longitudinal axis and has equidistantly arranged position markings. In addition to the incremental track, the material measure of one of the rail segments has an absolute track with position markings for coding a plurality of absolute positions. A scanning device can be moved along the rail segments and comprises a sensor arrangement for scanning the material measures with a first sensor, a second sensor and a third sensor. The first sensor and the second sensor are offset relative to one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis and are used to detect the position markings of the incremental track.

  • Patent number: 9041386
Abstract: A linear position measuring system (10) and a method for determining a position of a carriage in relation to a slide rail (12), with an incremental scale (14) placed along the slide rail (12) and a scanner secured to the slide scale. The scanner is designed to scan a plurality of incremental markings along the incremental scale (14), wherein the incremental markings can be scanned as an essentially analog signal progression. The scanner is designed to scan the incremental markings with a variable scanning frequency. The scanning frequency can be adaptively varied in relation to a currently acquired frequency of the analog signal progression, wherein the variable scanning frequency measures at least twice the currently acquired frequency of the analog signal progression.

  • Patent number: 8912793
Abstract: A linear position measuring system and a method for determining an absolute position of a carriage along a slide rail are disclosed. An analog signal progression (S) based at on at least one reference point is here discretely scanned in response to a first threshold (SW1) and second threshold (SW2). The resultant digital values are stored in a first measured value register (MR1) and a second measured value register (MR2). The contents of the first and second measured value register (MR1, MR2) are compared with the respective contents of a first and second set measured value register. The reference point is output as an ideal reference point if the differential value lies within a predetermined tolerance range, and is otherwise discarded.

  • Patent number: 8677645
Abstract: The invention relates to a measurement element (1, 11, 17, 26) for a length measuring system (40) in the form of a flexible strip comprising a measurement body (4) that can be scanned using a measuring unit (41) of the respective length measuring system (40). The flexible strip consists of a non-magnetic first layer (2, 13, 19, 28) and a magnetizable second layer (3, 14, 20, 29). The first layer (2, 13, 19, 28) is designed as a strip consisting of a metal material, coated at least in part on one side with the second layer (3, 14, 20, 29), said first layer acting as a support layer for the second layer. The second layer (3, 14, 20, 29) comprises several magnetizable regions that form the measurement body (4).

  • Patent number: 6408530
Abstract: A coordinate measuring instrument or machining equipment has a component that is mounted at its one end, movably on two guides, by a component foot. In order to be able to compensate rotation errors of the component, the component foot is arranged such that the component is turned in a plane that is orthogonal to the direction of motion of the component foot when the distance between the guides is changed.
