  • Patent number: 11945424
Abstract: A braking system for automatic driver-independent deceleration of a vehicle includes a hydraulic vehicle brake and a backup braking system. The hydraulic vehicle brake includes an adjustable brake pressure control device. A method for automatic driver-independent deceleration of a vehicle includes decelerating the vehicle by actuating a braking pressure control device and, in response to a set point valve set in a hydraulic vehicle brake exceeding a threshold value, actuating a backup braking system.

    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Klaus-Dieter Nijakowski, Andreas Englert, Tobias Putzer
  • Patent number: 11565674
Abstract: A hydraulic brake system for a vehicle includes a master brake cylinder, a hydraulic unit, and multiple wheel brakes. The hydraulic unit Ha at least one brake circuit for modulating the braking pressure in the wheel brakes. At least one wheel brake is paired with a bistable solenoid valve, which is looped into the corresponding fluid channel directly upstream of the paired wheel brake and which enables the braking pressure in the paired wheel brake to be modulated in a de-energized open position and locks the current braking pressure in the paired wheel brake in a de-energized closed position, wherein a volume equalization device which comprises a connectable accumulator opens into the corresponding fluid channel between the bistable solenoid valve and the paired wheel brake.

    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Frank Baehrle-Miller, Klaus Landesfeind, Klaus-Dieter Nijakowski, Edith Mannherz, Hubertus Wienken, Christoph Brand, Edgar Kurz, Wolfgang Schuller

  • Patent number: 9511756
Abstract: A method is described for protecting a parking assistance system from a failure of the service brake system. In order to prevent a collision of the vehicle with a surrounding object, the function of the service brake system is monitored and if an error is present, at least one other vehicle system, such as an automatic transmission or an automatic parking brake, is activated in order to brake the vehicle and/or interrupt the transmission of drive torque to the wheels.

  • Publication number: 20150032323
Abstract: In a method for the automatic guidance, e.g., parking, of a motor vehicle, which has a driving device for driving the motor vehicle, braking equipment for braking the motor vehicle, as well as a transmission device, in a normal operation, the braking equipment carrying out automatic braking during the automatic guidance, it is provided that, when a fault of the braking equipment occurs during the automatic guidance, an emergency operation is carried out, in which the motor vehicle is braked automatically to a standstill only by using the driving device and/or the transmission device.
