Abstract: An anchoring rail that includes a hollow section which is provided with a slot that extends in the longitudinal direction, with each of the sides of the slot being provided with a toothing that is engaged by a corresponding toothing on a latching plate that is wider than the slot and is part of a mounting element. In order to increase the capacity of the mounting element to take up loads applied in the longitudinal direction of the anchoring rail, without the mounting element being displaced, the load-carrying surfaces of the toothings, which are in contact with each other in the longitudinal direction of the anchoring rail, are oriented at right angles to the plane defined by the slot.
