  • Patent number: 8371585
Abstract: An oil wiper ring, comprising a body with a radially external running surface, an inner circumferential surface and an upper and lower face, and which possesses at least two slide ribs, which may be provided with a wear-resistant layer, such ribs becoming conically thinner, in the radial direction of their end faces, and which are opposite a sliding mating surface, such that they proceed from the body, at a specifiable angle, in order to form an angled side face, so that the free end of each slide rib, commencing in the region at the oil chamber side, is shaped to slope towards an area at the combustion chamber side, such that the associated transitional areas, on the one hand, from the region of the circumferential slide rib towards the angled side faces, and on the other hand, from the angled side faces to the piston ring body, are rounded, i.e. have predetermined radii.

  • Patent number: 5677010
Abstract: A method for producing at least a polymer surface layer on at least part of the inner surface of a hollow article that is at least partially of plastic, comprising coating said at least part of the inner surface of the hollow article by establishing a low pressure gas atmosphere within the hollow article, formin a polymerizable plasma within the article by excitation of the gas atmospher within the article by high-frequency electromagnetic energy, and allowing polymerization of the gas atmosphere to take place, whereby a polymerized coating is applied to said part of the inner surface, the gas atmospherre that forms the plasma containing a component that predominantly forms chains at sufficient speed and can be polymerized under the particular plasma conditions, and a component that forms predominantly branching or cross-linking points and can be polymerized under the particular plasma conditions.

  • Patent number: 5326514
Abstract: In a process for the production of hollow bodies from thermoplastic material by blow molding, an additional body is disposed inside the hollow body by being carried on a holding means which is joined to the inside surface of the wall of the hollow body. The additional body is disposed on the holding means at a spacing from the inside surface of the wall of the hollow body while that surface is subjected to a treatment with a treatment medium, so that the treatment medium has adequate access to the wall of the hollow body in the region of the additional body. After termination of the treatment the additional body is then moved on the holding means into a final position in which it is disposed at least closely adjacent to or in contact with the inside surface of the wall of the hollow body.

  • Patent number: 5134759
Abstract: A plate for a separator for the successive seizure and separation of threads held in an array has a leading edge and at least one hook-shaped recess in the leading edge. The recess has a depth in the direction of plate movement which is greater than half the width of the recess. Between a hook tip and the leading edge there extends a fender edge at an angle of 15.degree. to 90.degree. relative to the direction of plate movement. The hook tip is rounded with a radius of up to 10% of the width of the hook-shaped recess.

  • Patent number: 5003675
Abstract: A separator for successively seizing threads held in an array includes a frame, in which at least one plate is guided for seizing the threads. The frame is displaceable toward and away from the array. Each plate carries a piercing needle which pierces the thread for seizing it. Each plate can have two piercing needles disposed at a distance from one another and pointing towards one another.

  • Patent number: 4750253
Abstract: The method produces a flat spiral link assembly from at least four synthetic resin monofilament helices wound winding to winding which are simultaneously supplied for meshing engagement. Before being meshed the helices are stretched to at least three times their length and are thermoset in stretched condition. The alternatingly right-hand and left-hand helices are caused to mesh in zipper fashion and are interlocked by pintle wires. In order to facilitate the insertion of the pintle wires the helices are extended by about five percent. The apparatus for performing the method comprises two feed rolls forming a first roll nip through which helices are passed to a heating chamber. Draw-off rolls withdraw the helices from the heating chamber at least at three times the peripheral speed of the feed rolls. The apparatus also comprises a shunt for joining the helices and a device for inserting the pintle wires.
