  • Publication number: 20100301054
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polyethylene molding composition which has a multimodal molar mass distribution and is particularly suitable for thermoforming to produce fuel containers having a capacity in the range from 20 to 200 I. The molding composition has a density at a temperature of 23° C. in the range from 0.948 to 0.953 g/cm3 and an MFR190/21.6 in the range from 4.5 to 6 g/10 min. It comprises from 40 to 50% by weight of a low molecular weight ethylene homopolymer A, from 35 to 45% by weight of a high molecular weight copolymer B of ethylene and another olefin having from 4 to 8 carbon atoms and from 10 to 25% by weight of an ultrahigh molecular weight ethylene copolymer C.

  • Publication number: 20050075241
Abstract: A method for production of catalytic systems of the Ziegler-Natta type is characterised in comprising the following steps: A) bringing an inorganic metal oxide and a magnesium compound of formula MgRnX2-n into contact, where X=independently, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, hydrogen, NR2, OR, SR, SO3R or OC(O)R and R=independently, C1-C20 linear, branched, or cyclic alkyl, a C2-C10 alkenyl, an alkylaryl with 1-10 C atoms in the alkyl group and 6-20 C atoms in the aryl group, or a C6-C18 aryl and n=1 or 2, then, B) bringing the intermediate product obtained in step A) into contact with a halogenating reagent, C) bringing the intermediate product obtained in step B) into contact with a) a tetravalent titanium compound, b) a metallo-organic compound of group 3 of the periodic system and c) optionally, an electron-donor compound and D) washing the product obtained in step C) with an aprotic solvent.

  • Patent number: 6730753
Abstract: Catalyst systems of the Ziegler-Natta type, which are suitable for the polymerization of olefins are prepared by: A) bringing an inorganic metal oxide on which a magnesium compound has been deposited into contact with a tetravalent titanium compound, B) if desired, bringing the intermediate obtained in this way into contact with an electron donor compound and C) bringing the intermediate obtained in step A) or B) into contact with a polysiloxane.

  • Patent number: 6087290
Abstract: Novel Si--N--Si bridged metallocenes of the formula [L--Si--Me.sub.2 NRSiMe.sub.2 L]MX.sub.2 wherein L is a C.sub.5 H.sub.4, C.sub.9 H.sub.6, or C.sub.13 H.sub.8 radical, R is alkyl and M is zirconium, titanium, or hafnium, and X is selected from the group consisting of chlorine, bromine, iodine, methyl and diethyl amine, are provided via a novel amine elimination reaction followed by cyclization of the ligand sphere of the amino silyl functionalized metallocene dichloride complex. Further, there is provided novel unbridged metallocene precursors of the formula [RNH--SiMe.sub.2 --L].sub.2 MX.sub.2. Such Si--N--Si bridged metallocenes in combination with an organometallic compound of metals of Group IA, IIA, and IIB form a catalyst system which is highly active in the polymerization of alpha-olefins.
