Abstract: An aerosol hairspray product for styling and/or shaping hair wherein the product comprises: a container; a spraying device; a propellant; a hairstyling formulation comprising: (a) at least about 50% water; and (b) from about 0.01% to about 20% of a hairstyling polymer, wherein the hairstyling polymer is selected from the group consisting of: acrylates copolymers of two or more monomers of (meth)acrylic acid or one of their simple esters; acrylates/hydroxyesters acrylates copolymers of butyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, methacrylic acid, ethyl acrylate and hydroxyethyl methacrylate; polyurethane-14/AMP-acrylates polymer blend; and mixtures thereof. The product comprises about 2% or less alcohol, or is substantially free of alcohol, and the product comprises 54% or less VOC.

Abstract: A hair care product is described, which consists of transparent, pressure-resistant aerosol packaging, a device for foaming a composition contained in the aerosol packaging, and a foaming composition of at least two clear liquid phases separated from each other. The composition contains water; at least 15 wt %, based on the composition without aerosol propellant, water-soluble, liquid alcohol; at least one polymer, selected from hair-conditioning, hair-setting, and film-forming polymers; at least one hair-conditioning cationic surfactant; at least one foam-forming or foam-stabilizing surfactant, selected from nonionic surfactants with an HLB value of at least 10 and zwitterionic surfactants; as well as one water-insoluble, liquified aerosol propellant.

Abstract: The hair treatment composition for providing a flexible long-lasting hair fixing contains a combination of at least three film-forming, hair-fixing polymers. This hair treatment composition contains at least one amphoteric polymer, at least one anionic polymer and at least one nonionic vinyl lactam homopolymer or copolymer. The at least one amphotenc polymer is formed from at least one monomer, which has at least one neutralized or non-neutmlized acid group, and from at least one other monomer, which has at least one neutralized or non-neutralized amine group. The anionic polymer is built up from at least one radically polymerizable ethylenicaily unsaturated carboxylic acid, such as acrylic or methacrylic acid.

Abstract: The hair treatment composition contains preferably from 0.01 to 20 percent by weight of at least one N-hydroxyalkyl-O-benzyl chitosan and from 0.01 to 20 percent by weight of at least one other hair treatment effective ingredient. The at least one N-hydroxyalkyl-O-benzyl chitosan has at least one hydroxylalkyl group, preferably a hydroxyethyl, hydroxypropyl or hydroxybutyl group, and has from 2 to 20 carbon atoms. Various methods of treating hair with hair treatment compositions containing one or more of the N-hydroxyalkyl-O-benzyl chitosans are described.
