  • Patent number: 7770164
Abstract: Interactive software applications are upgraded at a remote service center. The software applications are used at customer locations. Each software application may rely upon customer specific data and customer protocols. Periodically, a revised version of a software application becomes available for use. The customer specific data and/or customer protocols that the previous version of the software application implemented at a customer location may be identified at the remote service center. Subsequently, the revised version of the software application may be modified at the remote service center using the customer specific data and/or customer protocols. The modified revised software application may be transferred to the customer location for installation. The customer specific data may pertain to user interface settings of the software application.

  • Publication number: 20060091995
Abstract: A portable entry system and method is provided. The portable entry system includes an electromechanical lock used for securing a safe door to a safe housing. The system also includes a portable entry device that allows the electromechanical lock to be operated between open and closed positions. The portable entry device is removable from the electromechanical lock such that it may be programmed and recharged at a location remote from the electromechanical lock. An authorized user enters an authorized user security code that activates the portable entry device. Without an activated device, the electromechanical lock cannot be operated.

  • Patent number: 4943900
Abstract: Lighting fixture including a light-transmitting lighting tube in which a plurality of series-connected miniature light bulbs are disposed and whose ends are provided with current connections in the form of female connectors which have an interior, centrally located, electrically conductive plug-in contact, so as to contact, when the lighting fixture is mounted, male connectors disposed in a holding head and connected with an electrical lead, the fixture further including a profiled connecting member which has a cross section in the shape of a circle segment and which, in the mounted state of the lighting fixture, is arranged so as to be rotatable about the lighting tube. The holding heads (2a, 2b) can be inserted into the ends of the profiled connecting member (3) and can be connected in a form-locking manner with the profiled connecting member (3) by rotating the profiled connecting member (3) and/or the holding heads (2a, 2b).

  • Patent number: 4745784
Abstract: An electronic dial combination lock has a spindle journalled within the lock for movement in two degrees of freedom, i.e., both rotational and axial displacement, to cause engagement of a push pin located on an internal cam wheel to engage one of a plurality of pressure-sensitive switches within the lock located in an evenly-spaced, circular pattern centered on the spindle's axis, each switch capable of making a discrete, unique electrical connection. Circuit means contained in the region sense the making of the electrical connections and detect when a given subset of connections has been made in a predetermined, sequential order corresponding to the lock's combination, to initiate an electrical signal within the region. The electrical signal may be used, e.g., to operate a solenoid to permit a conventional fence lever to engage the cam wheel such that a bolt within the lock may be withdrawn, such as in a safe door.
