  • Publication number: 20110198208
Abstract: For desalinating saline water, a solar energy collector plant comprising parabolic trough collectors is used as a heat generator. With the generated heat, a heat engine is driven by steam, wherein the heat engine drives a generator to generate electricity. The residual steam of the heat engine is used to heat a distillation device in which a first partial flow of the saline water is distilled. A second partial flow of the saline water is fed to a reverse osmosis device that is supplied with the electricity of the generator to generate pressure. After both partial flows are desalinated or partially desalinated, the two partial flows are mixed in a mixing device which thereby produces drinking water.

  • Patent number: 6279312
Abstract: The energy generating installation comprises a gas turbine (10) which is operated by steam injected via a steam line (16). The outlet (18) of the gas turbine (10) is connected with the heat exchanger (21) of a waste heat boiler (19). The waste heat boiler (19) contains a steam drum (22) connected to a preheater (24) and a steam generator (23) of the heat exchanger (21). According to the invention a solar steam generator (36) is connected to the steam drum (22) in a second circuit (39). The steam produced by the solar steam generator (36) is heated in a superheater (22) and then used for steam injection purposes. The energy generating installation offers high flexibility at high efficiency despite the unreliable availability of solar energy.

  • Patent number: 5465708
Abstract: A trough-shaped collector for solar radiation for steam generation. A trough-shaped mirror extending in a longitudinal direction receives and reflects radiation onto an absorber line enclosing within its interior a steam generator tube. Heat is transferred transversely from the absorber line to the steam generator tube by a heat pipe structure.

  • Patent number: 4101980
Abstract: A protective device for protecting the face of a user includes a face shield made of flexible, shatterproof plastic and a guard pivotably mounted on the shield and at least partially covering it. The guard is made of scratch-resistant glass. The guard may be mounted over a cutout or opening in the shield and can be pivoted away.
