  • Publication number: 20140353898
Abstract: A clamping device includes a base part, a clamping element arranged such that it can be displaced relative to the base part in order to transmit a clamping force onto a part to be clamped, and a drive unit that displaceably impinges upon the clamping element. The drive unit has a threaded spindle or a threaded sleeve that can be driven rotationally by a motor to directly or indirectly cooperate with a corresponding part of the clamping element in such a manner that rotationally driving the threaded spindle or threaded sleeve effects a displacement of the clamping element and/or a generation of a clamping force.

  • Patent number: 8123233
Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping device, especially for releasably clamping a machine tool having a fixing element extending therefrom. The clamping device includes a deforming clamping element which acts on a clamping part with a clamping force in order to secure the fixing element to the clamping device. The deforming clamping element may also be controlled to act on the clamping part with a releasing force in order to release the fixing element from the clamping device. Both the clamping force and the releasing force result from the deformation of the deforming clamping element.

  • Patent number: 8061488
Abstract: A pneumatically actuatable clamping or braking device, has a housing with a space accommodating a hydraulic medium constructed least in part as a solid body. The space for accommodating the hydraulic medium is delimited on one side by a wall of the housing and on the other by a clamping or braking element. The device has at least one actuating element that acts on the hydraulic medium to produce a clamping or braking force which can be transmitted by the clamping or braking element to an impinging element. According to the invention, at least one actuating element is shaped like a pin or a spike. The actuating element is movable along a predetermined spatial curve, and acts on the hydraulic medium through an aperture in the wall of the housing delimiting the space for accommodating the hydraulic medium.

  • Patent number: 7861830
Abstract: A safety device is provided having a clamping system that uses pressure admission into a chamber of a clamp element dependent on the position of a weight to be carried relative to the clamping system. For this purpose a valve is provided in a medium supply line, which valve is to be opened or closed by means of a movable actuation element. Here, the actuation element should be movable in the same direction in which the weight moves, preferably in a vertical direction. As a result of the arrangement of such a valve, the device couples the vertical movement or position of the weight with an actuation of the valve, and thus to provide an additional control for the pressure admission into the chamber or the clamping force resulting therefrom. A preferred chamber has curved top and bottom walls that elongate with a pressure drop.
