  • Patent number: 5078419
Abstract: A sole support device having a support member and an endless band movably supported and guided on the support member between two edge structures extending transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the ski and projecting upwardly adjacent the side edges of the band. In order to avoid in such a device any damage to the band while stepping into a ski binding with a ski boot, the band consists of an endless support section and plural spaced elevations on the support section, which elevations project beyond or above the edge structures.

  • Patent number: 5056808
Abstract: The invention relates to a ski binding having a tow holding unit including a locking element, the toe holding unit being fastenable to the upper surface of a ski, a heel holding unit, the heel holding unit being movable along a guide rail fixed to the ski, a connecting element including at least one receptacle, the connecting element extending between the toe holding unit and the heel holding unit, the locking element of the toe holding unit being selectively engageable with the at least one receptacle, and the heel holding unit being movable relative to the connecting element and being connectable to the connecting element to adjust the distance between the heel holding unit and the toe holding unit. The connecting element includes an encasing of plastic material located on external surfaces thereof, a tread plate extends over and engages an upper surface of the connecting element, and a cover, spaced from the tread plate, overlies the connecting element.

  • Patent number: 5004261
Abstract: An anti-theft device for a safety ski binding comprising a jaw having catches and abutments for supporting a detent arrangement holding a sole retainer in a detent position. To be able to construct a device of this type in such a way, if possible, that there is hardly any possibility of a successful unauthorized manipulation which does not impair the function of the binding proper, there is provided a blocking arrangement (100) having a blocking position in which a member coupled with an abutment (102, 21) or a catch (10, 11) is retained in its position corresponding to the open or release position of the binding.

  • Patent number: 4993742
Abstract: A ski binding for attachment to a ski and for retaining a ski boot having a hook element extending therefrom, comprises a support structure for disposition on the upper surface of a ski, a horizontal transverse pin attached to the support structure, a pivoting part having a first end, a second end, and a mid-portion disposed between the first and second ends, the first end including a pivot pin disposed thereon, the second end having at least one locking pin extending therefrom, and the mid-portion being pivotably connected to the horizontal transverse pin, an elastic element disposed on the support structure for contacting the pivoting part to resist pivotal movement of the pivoting part about the transverse pin, a boot retaining shell pivotably mounted about the transverse pin for movement between an opened position and a closed position and having a recess disposed therein, the locking pin for projecting through both the recess and the hook element of a ski boot when the retaining shell is in the closed po

  • Patent number: 4917399
Abstract: A cross-country ski binding provided with a holding device for holding, optionally with elastic resiliency, an extension of a ski boot which is to be held in the binding, or of the sole of said boot, and with a heel plate. In order to make it possible in a binding of this kind to display the steps made or the push-off force applied, provision is made to provide in a manner known per se a measurement transducer (30) which responds to forces and produces electrical signals and which is connected to an evaluation circuit (31) controlling a display device (33), the measuring transducer being disposed in the holding device (10) or in or beneath the ball plate (7) or the heel plate in order to protect is against damage.
