  • Patent number: 7342921
Abstract: A method for connecting exchanges via a packet-oriented communication network wherein the exchanges are connected via a respective conversion device to the packet-oriented communication network, in which data transmission involves data packets subdivided into substructure elements being set up. For data transmission, the conversion device associated with a transmitting exchange inserts the substructure elements into the data packets, and a conversion device associated with the receiving exchange separates the substructure elements from the data packets.

  • Patent number: 7324527
Abstract: The communication terminals are connected to the packet-oriented communication network via a hub and the switching system is connected to the packet-oriented communication network via an access unit. A data format formed of substructural elements is set up for a data transmission between a switching system and the communication terminals. The data to be transmitted in the form of substructural elements are inserted into data packets at the transmitter end for a data transmission via the communication network. The substructural elements are extracted from the received data packets at the receiver end. Accordingly, the data packets have been transmitted transparently with no compression/decompression and conversion according to the RTP protocol at the transmitter and receiver end.

  • Patent number: 7154882
Abstract: In the present communications system, communications terminals are connected via at least one hub unit and an exchange to a packet-based communications network. A timeslot-oriented data format, which is formed from a periodic sequence of channel-specific information segments, is provided for data transmission between the exchange and the communications terminals. In this case, information segments which are intended for transmission of signaling information, and information segments which are intended for transmission of user data information are transmitted in separate data packets which are intended for data transmission via the packet-oriented communications network.

  • Patent number: 7039042
Abstract: A method for data transmission via a packet-oriented communications network, wherein, communications terminal devices are connected to the packet-oriented communications network via at least one transfer unit and a switching system. To transmit data between the switching system and the communications terminal devices, a time-slot-oriented data format is provided, which is formed from a periodic sequence of channel-specific information segments. For the transmission of data via the communications network, a user data area of a data packet used to transmit data via the communications network is subdivided into at least one first subpacket and into a second subpacket, data of a channel-specific information segment being transmitted in each case in the first subpackets.

  • Patent number: 7031300
Abstract: Communication terminals are connected to a communication network via at least one hub having an unambiguous address in the communication network. Data transmission between the switching system and the communication terminals is provided using a time-slot-oriented data format formed from a periodic sequence of channel-oriented information segments. The address of the hub is transmitted from the hub to the switching system in an agreed information segment.

  • Patent number: 7027438
Abstract: A method for determining a network access address wherein a terminal address and a system address designating the switching system associated with the communication terminal are stored in the communication terminal. When the communication terminal is connected to the communication network, a configuration message containing the terminal address is transmitted to the switching system determined by reference to the system address, which switching system determines the network access address via the configuration message.

  • Patent number: 6940858
Abstract: Proceeding from a source terminal device a connection setup message is communicated to a network node of the communication network A network node receiving the connection setup message enters the network node address allocated to it in the communication network and forwards the connection setup message to at least one neighboring network node. Upon reception of the connection setup message at a destination terminal device, a confirmation message is returned to the source terminal device on the identified route, whereby a switching information for a following message transmission is stored in the network nodes that have been traversed.

  • Patent number: 6584107
Abstract: ATM communication terminal devices (KE1 . . . 4) of a communication network that is designed according to ATM can be inventively allocated to a ring network structure, whereby a ring network address (EA,GA) is respectively assigned to these ATM communication terminal devices (KE1 . . . 4), and the ring network access and the ring network communication are controlled in a ring-network-specific manner. On the basis of the imaging, into the virtual channel identification (VCI) of ATM cells, of a ring network address (EA,GA) identifying one or more ATM communication terminal devices (KE1 . . . 4), an emulated ring network structure (LAN emulation) is realized easily.

  • Patent number: 6553024
Abstract: When an external terminal is signed on to a communications system, a voice link is set up between the external terminal and a teleworking subscriber line module of the communications system. Control information which is transferred in the form of DTMF signals from the external terminal via the voice link is converted at the teleworking subscriber line module into signaling information such as is usually available within the scope of a signaling protocol between internal terminals and the communications system.

  • Patent number: 6353745
Abstract: When an external terminal is signed on to a communications system, a short message service link is set up between the external terminal and a teleworking computer connected to the communications system. Control information which is transferred from the external terminal via the short message service link is converted by the teleworking computer into signaling information that is usually available within the scope of a signaling protocol between internal terminals and the communications system. The converted short message control information is then transferred on to a control unit of the communications system.

  • Patent number: 6304845
Abstract: In a transmission of voice data, the stream of voice data is first decomposed into phonemes. For each phoneme a code symbol which is assigned to that specific phoneme in a selectable voice-specific and/or speaker-specific phoneme catalog is transmitted to a voice synthesizer at the transmission destination. The amount of data which has to be transmitted is generally greatly reduced. The decomposition of the stream of voice data into phonemes is carried out by a neural network which is trained to detect the phonemes stored in the selected voice-specific and/or speaker-specific phoneme catalog. The voice synthesizer reconverts the stream of received code symbols into a sequence of phonemes and outputs it.

  • Patent number: 6252870
Abstract: In response to a connection setup initiated by a time-division-multiplex-oriented component, an ATM-communications-network-specific destination information item is derived from a specified signaling information item, and an ATM switched connection is automatically set up in the ATM communications network. After a transparent transfer of signaling and useful information via the switched connection that has been set up, the ATM switched connection in question is released. This provides more efficient use of the ATM communications network.

  • Patent number: 5878042
Abstract: In a method for transmission of digital signals present in the form of time division multiplex channels via an ATM transmission device, a plurality of time division multiplex channels are cyclically combined in a call frame with cyclically transmitted frame cycles. The call frame contains at least one useful information channel and at least one control information channel. The digital signals present in the form of time division multiplex channels are converted into ATM cell useful information. These ATM cells are transmitted in virtual ATM channels and then again converted into time division multiplex channels which are combined in a call frame with frame cycles to be transmitted cyclically. If empty useful information channels are to be transmitted, an information item regarding empty useful information channels is inserted into the control information channel data and the useful information channels are not transmitted via ATM.

  • Patent number: 5477538
Abstract: The allocation of the switching-oriented resources of a communication system (KS) operating in the asynchronous transfer mode is controlled for connections wherein cells (Z) communicated by a communication terminal equipment (KE) connected to the communication system (KS) are to be switched without cell losses. Logon information and scope of resources information (ai, ri) communicated within the framework of the call signaling are thereby entered in call-associated fashion into an immanent routing table (LT) of the communication system. Given reception of a first cell (Z) to be communicated free of losses, this and the further cells (Z) are switched with the assistance of the logged on switching-oriented resources (VR) in so far as no resources availability information (rvi) dependent on the traffic load of the communication system (KS) is entered into the routing table (LT).
