  • Patent number: 9071973
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program for allocating resources in a communication system. An access node sends a request for shared resources to one or more neighboring access nodes which have a strong interference bond with the access node. The neighboring access nodes send a response identifying the nature of their use of the shared resources. The access node then determines a new allocation of the shared resources based on the responses. This new allocation is then signalled to the neighboring access nodes.

  • Publication number: 20150181536
Abstract: In accordance with a method for power control in wireless communications, including a first radio node determines that a different muted subframe transmission power is desired. A request to a second radio node for a different muted subframe transmission power is then signalled. The request is taken into account by the second radio node in setting transmission power of at least one muted subframe.

  • Patent number: 9055540
Abstract: There is provided a method of calculating a maximum allowed transmit power for a user equipment within a cellular network system. The cellular network system includes a first cell having a first base station and a second cell having a second base station. The user equipment is served by the first base station. The method includes determining, by the first base station, a maximum degree of interferences being tolerable by the first base station, wherein the interferences are caused by the user equipment following a handover of the user equipment from the first base station to the second base station, and calculating a maximum allowed transmit power for the user equipment to be used following the handover based on the determined maximum degree of interferences.

  • Publication number: 20150156778
Abstract: An apparatus, method, system and computer program product is configured for avoiding base station self-interference due to transmit intermodulation in carrier aggregated communication systems. Physical downlink communication channels are allocated to respective component carriers per time interval according to a communication service in which communication is performed on an aggregation of component carriers of one or more frequency band such that component carriers to be used for transmission are separated from component carriers to be used for receiving by a transmit-receive-frequency gap band. However, not all available component carriers to be used for transmission are allocated in the same time interval.

  • Publication number: 20150111576
Abstract: It is checked if a first CRE from a first cell is larger than 0; and if a second CRE from a second cell is larger than 0. If both the first and the second CRE are larger than 0, a first modified CRE is set based on the first CRE and a second modified CRE is set based on the second CRE. If the first CRE and/or the second CRE is equal to 0, the first modified CRE is set to the first CRE and the second modified CRE is set to the second CRE. One of the first and second cell is selected for cell selection and/or handover based on a comparison of a sum of a signal strength indicator from the first cell and the first modified CRE and a sum of a signal strength indicator from the second cell and the second modified CRE.

  • Publication number: 20150085771
Abstract: The disclosure relate to interference coordination in wireless communications. A first level station can obtain information for interference coordination with a second level station to protect the second level station from interference in arrangement where the second level station provides a smaller coverage area than the first level station and is at least partially located in the area of the first level station. Use of directional antenna beams by the first level station and/or communications by the second level station can then be controlled accordingly.

  • Patent number: 8971798
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program for authenticating a newly activated local area base station in a cellular network is presented. The newly activated local area base station, associated with a sub-cell located within a coverage area of a wide area base station of a cellular telecommunication system, is paired with the wide area base station on the basis of information enabling identification of the wide area base station and originating from the local area base station. Then, transfer of a radio communication identifier to the local area base station is arranged over a wired connection.

  • Publication number: 20150036602
Abstract: A base station determines first quality information indicative for a quality of a first part of subframes of a communication channel and a second quality information indicative for a quality of a second part of the subframes of the communication channel. Feedback information is received from a UE being indicative for the quality of the communication channel. A first compensation value is determined based on the first quality information and the feedback information, wherein the compensation value compensates a difference between the first quality information and the feedback information. A second compensation value is determined based on the second quality information and the feedback information, wherein the compensation value compensates a difference between the second quality information and the feedback information. The feedback information is adjusted based on the determined first and second compensation values. The communication channel is configured based on the adjusted feedback information.
