  • Publication number: 20200016852
Abstract: A method for consolidating a fiber composite structure with at least one thermoplastic and/or thermoelastic polymer includes arranging the structure between a plate-shaped base and a plate-shaped cover in a loading/unloading station of a conveying device. The cover is sealed with respect to the base by a seal to be displaceable in relation to the base. The method includes generating negative pressure in the interstice between the base and the cover so the ambient pressure pushes the cover against the base, the structure being clamped between the cover and the base; heating the composite structure by electromagnetic radiation preferably at least into the range of the melting temperature of the at least one polymer in a heating station, cooling the composite structure in a cooling station of the conveying device; and removing the consolidated structure from the base or removing the base onto which the structure has been placed.

  • Publication number: 20150241406
Abstract: The present invention concerns means and methods for cancer diagnosis and, in particular, diagnosis of prostate cancer. Specifically, it relates to a method for diagnosing whether a subject is at risk for recunent prostate carcinoma after prostatectomy comprising determining the amount of at least one metabolite selected from Table 2 in a test sample of a subject after prostatectomy, and comparing the determined amount to a reference, whereby it is diagnosed whether the subject is at risk for recurrent prostate carcinoma after prostatectomy. Further methods provided in accordance with the present invention relate to differentiating between a malignant prostate carcinoma tissue and a non-malignant tissue and diagnosing metastasizing prostate carcinoma in a subject. Also provided are devices for carrying out the aforementioned methods.

  • Publication number: 20120122243
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method, preferably an ex vivo method, for diagnosing prostate carcinomas and/or predisposition thereof comprising determining at least one metabolite in a test sample of a subject suspected to suffer from prostate carcinomas or to have a predisposition therefor and comparing said at least one metabolite to a reference, whereby prostate carcinomas or a predisposition therefor is to be diagnosed. Moreover, the present invention encompasses a collection of metabolites, a data collection comprising characteristic values of metabolites and a storage medium comprising said data collection. Furthermore, the present invention also relates to a system comprising means for comparing characteristic values of metabolites of a sample operatively linked to a data storage medium.

  • Patent number: 6087609
Abstract: A arcing chamber housing is disclosed for a circuit breaker with a double turning contact breaker. The arcing chamber housing (1) is composed of two housing modules (2, 3) and an extinguishing chamber (19) is arranged in the area of the fixed contact pieces (6, 7) to extinguish the arcs which are formed between the contact pieces of the double turning contact breaker. In order to obtain a arcing chamber housing (1) which is easy and economical to produce, with extinguishing chambers (19) which have a reproducible extinguishing behavior once the arcing chamber is assembled, the two housing modules (2, 3) are substantially L-shaped parts whose inner marginal surfaces (4, 5) face each other. The first parts (17, 18) of the housing, which correspond to the first branches of the L-shaped housing modules (2,3), are designed as extinguishing chambers (19). Also disclosed are the housing modules (2, 3) used to produce such a arcing chamber housing.

  • Patent number: 5105188
Abstract: A method is provided for initiating a configuration after the interruption of at least two ring-shaped networks arranged in parallel. After the appearance of malfunctions in the ring lines and ring switching matrix devices in at least two-of-n ring-shaped networks, a configuring in the sense of forming those ring network portions that are still intact into a new ring-shaped network is initiated. Based on the knowledge of the position of the subscriber equipment (interpretation of the address table information) and on the transmission of interrupt information given ring interruptions, the configuring or, respectively, "loop back" connecting is initiated after the identification of the reception and transmission of interrupt information or the identification of the transmission of interrupt information dependent on the position of the appertaining subscriber equipment.

  • Patent number: 4999870
Abstract: A shoe ribbing machine of the present invention is particularly adapted to drive tacks into the insole of a shoe at a predetermined spacing through a ribbing disposed over the edge of the insole. The shoe ribbing machine includes a last over which a shoe upper including the insole can be fitted, a tack driving device confronting the last for driving tacks one after another into the insole of a shoe supported on the last, and a drive connected to one of the last and the tack driving device for moving the last and the tack driving device relative to one another. A measuring and pulse generating device is provided to detect the amount of relative movement between the last and the tack driving device. The measuring and pulse generating device issues pulses based on the detection of relative movement to control the rate at which the tack driving device drives tacks one after another as a function of the amount of relative movement between the last and the tack driving device.

  • Patent number: 4708042
Abstract: With a punching machine with at least one punching carriage, which can be moved transverse to the advance direction of a material belt, with a piston cylinder unit arranged in the punching carriage, which effects the punching stroke of a tool stamp and, with an abutment for receiving a tool die-plate, it should be guaranteed that, a female die is always realized absolutely exactly below the punching material opposite the male die. This is achieved in that, the abutment is firmly arranged in a defined position to the piston cylinder unit in the punching carriage carrying the piston cylinder unit.

  • Patent number: 4257889
Abstract: In a ship an opening is provided in the bow for skimming an oil/water mixture off the surface of the body of the water on which the ship travels. A ramp located within the ship slopes upwardly from the bow toward the stern and conveys the mixture to a location over a collection tank. The end of the ramp closer to the stern is formed by an overflow flap pivotally connected to the fore part of the ramp. Sensing elements check various factors affecting flow into the collecting tank and control an adjusting device which pivotally positions the overflow flap relative to the remainder of the ramp.
