  • Publication number: 20040115427
Abstract: The invention teaches building of a larger compression between the two webs at the beginning of contact of the new, prepared web with the old web, in order to allow better toleration of the small, unavoidable synchronization deficits when carrying out a flying splice. • Patent number: 6564840
Abstract: A lamella for use in a vehicle tire vulcanization mold has projections and depression, wherein the height of the projections and the depth of the depressions extend substantially parallel to a peripheral surface of the tire tread of the vehicle tire to be molded in the vulcanization mold. Each one of the projections has a highest point-shaped location or top. Each one of the depressions has a lowest point-shaped location or crater. The projections and depressions are distributed according to a substantially uniform areal division. The areal division is defined by dividing lines extending in a dividing plane preferably centrally positioned between a first plane defined by the tops and a second plane defined by the craters. The dividing lines are comprised of three sets wherein the dividing lines within each one of the sets extend parallel to one another and wherein the dividing lines of different ones of the sets intercept one another at an angle of substantially 60° so that a grid of triangles is formed.

  • Publication number: 20030010108
Abstract: A vehicle tire comprising a tread and a pair of sidewalls has a radially inner track and a radially outer track on a sidewall, each track being formed of a plurality of magnetically active sectors arranged in an angular serial manner to one another. Each sector is delimited from the next following sector by a respective sector transition and has a different magnetic property than the next following sector. A first group of the sector transitions have a radial extent forming a first angle relative to a radius of the tire and a second group of the sector transitions have a radial extent forming a second angle relative to a radius of the tire which is different than the first sector transition angle. Conclusions concerning the tangential tire deformation can be drawn from signals generated by magnetically sensing the phase shift of the magnetically active track sectors.

  • Patent number: 5926017
Abstract: A device for measuring a rotary frequency of a rotating vehicle tire includes a number of first poles uniformly arranged on a circle with a radius R1 on or within a vehicle tire. A first sensor, for sensing the first poles, is stationarily arranged at a distance R2 from a rotational axis of the vehicle wheel. The radii have the following relationship: 0.9 R1<R2<1.1 R1. A computing unit is connected to the first sensor. The first sensor sends first signals to the computing unit when the first poles pass the first sensor. The computing unit determines a first time period between passing of sequential ones of the first poles. The computing unit multiplies a reciprocal value of the first time period by a reciprocal value of the number of the first poles to a multiplication product and supplies the multiplication product as a measure of a first rotary frequency to a user device.

  • Patent number: 5746848
Abstract: A vehicle tire having a profiled tread on the periphery of which are arranged pitches of at least two different lengths. In an axial direction, the tread is divided into several parts, with the successive pitch length in a given axial part forming a pitch sequence. To further reduce radial force fluctuations that induce vibrations by the transmission of noise into wheel suspension and body parts, the phase offset between the pitch sequences of the various tread parts is dimensioned such that the distance between the absolute extremes of the summation of weighted representations of a given function is minimal or at most 25% greater than this minimum. Each of the tread parts have associated therewith a function that is the successive plotting of successive pitch lengths of the pertaining tread part on the abscissa while marking off the respective pitch length, starting from the abscissa, onto the ordinate.
