  • Publication number: 20070112770
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for wrriting data into identification media of various types (IM-X, IM-Y) via assigned write/read stations WR. According to said method, a virtual, identification media-independent reference file system RFS is defined. All access keys RKi are replaced by a file system key FSK and all access rights ACi of subsections Bi are suspended and a file system FS, corresponding to the reference file system RFS, is initialized or written into the identification media: (FS(IM-X), FS(IM-Y)). In doing so, a file system starting point (FS-S(IM-X), FS-S(IM-Y)) is defined in the identification media (IM(FS) and in the assigned read/write stations WR(RFS) so that applications (App(RFS) corresponding to the virtual reference file system RFS can be written into the identification media and executed.

  • Publication number: 20050086506
Abstract: The method for the initialisation or extension of an application for the transmission of information associated with an application to terminals of a system with mobile data carriers, terminals and with a hierarchical authorisation system utilises application information, which is loaded onto mobile data carriers from a selected, authorised terminal. Subsequently, during the presentation of the data carriers at further terminals, the application information is transmitted to the terminals associated with the application such that thereupon the application is capable of being executed for authorised data carriers at the terminals. The terminals are also capable of being transformed into further authorised terminals for the further controlled propagation or deletion of the application information (“virus” principle).

  • Patent number: 6751689
Abstract: An interface circuit transmits data via a serial interface to and from a processor. A first-in-first-out memory is disposed between the serial interface and the processor. A suitable method transmits data which are received and read into the memory serially bit by bit and are read out of it byte by byte by the processor, or, respectively, can be written byte by byte into the memory by the processor and can be transmitted from the memory bit by bit.

  • Publication number: 20020089890
Abstract: In order to shorten an access time and thus to shorten the entire data processing time, a sector size of a memory device is adapted to respective applications. Each application is assigned a respective sector. The access right is checked only once for each application.

  • Patent number: 5825214
Abstract: An integrated circuit arrangement with a diode characteristic including a source-drain section of a first transistor arranged in the current path between the input and output sides of the arrangement; a first inverter stage with an output fed back to its input, and whose supply voltage is provided by the voltage on the output side of the circuit arrangement; a second inverter stage to the input of which the output signal from the first inverter stage is fed and whose supply voltage is provided by the voltage on the input side of the circuit arrangement; and a third inverter stage having an input to which the output signal from the second inverter stage is fed, whose voltage supply is provided by the voltage on the output side of the circuit arrangement, and whose output signal is fed to the gate electrode of the first transistor, and thus regulates the current flow in the current path of the circuit arrangement.

  • Patent number: 5449894
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a contactless and batteryless chip card. The chip card is supplied with energy via an alternating field by a write/read unit. The bidirectional data transfer is achieved by modulation of the energy-transmitting alternating field. The chip card includes, inter alia, an antenna coil for receiving the alternating field, an input circuit generating the supply voltage from the coil current, and a voltage detector for detecting blanking gaps in the alternating field. By the method in accordance with the invention the voltage detector compares the two voltages at the coil ends with one another and then supplies an output signal, provided both the voltages are substantially equal in size for longer than a predetermined period. Furthermore, a chip card is described that contains a voltage detector permitting operation according to the method described.

  • Patent number: 5418358
Abstract: The invention relates to a contactless and batteryless chip card having an antenna coil, a transmission and reception stage which via an electromagnetic alternating field generated by a write/read unit on the one hand supplies the chip card with energy and on the other hand ensures bidirectional data transmission to the write/read unit. The chip card in accordance with the invention has a detector for determining the field strength of the electromagnetic alternating field transmitting energy to said chip card. The functions of the user part, which have a high energy requirement to implement them, are only implemented advantageously when the detector has detected a sufficient field strength. This prevents defective or incomplete implementation of energy-consuming functions of the chip card before they are begun. The field strength detector consists of a switch and load in parallel to the coil with the switch controlled by a control circuit to cause the switch to be on only during a measurement cycle.

  • Patent number: 5286955
Abstract: A method is described of wireless transmission of data onto a data carrier, in particular onto a chip card or IC card, by said data carrier being placed in a high-frequency field. To carry out amplitude keying, the field is switched on and off, with the information being here the number of periods transmitted between two transmission intervals. The semiconductor circuit accommodated in the data carrier receives its clock from the received high-frequency field or from an oscillator allocated to the semiconductor circuit, with this clock being off during a transmission gap.
