  • Patent number: 6119524
Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring indicator device comprising a modular pressure transducer, a modular line socket connected to a device connector and a modular casing having a display. In order to improve the usefulness and provide simultaneous simple assembly, the pressure transducer and the device connector with the line socket are connected to opposing sides of the casing so that the casing is capable of rotating about its longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 5816448
Abstract: An arrangement for dosing fluids, such as beverages, comprising a flow meter arranged in the fluid dosing duct, an on-off valve arranged in the dosing duct downstream of the flow meter for releasing or cutting the flow of fluid, and an evaluation circuit that transmits a switching off control signal (closing signal) to the on-off valve when a predetermined amount of fluid has passed through the flow meter. The flow meter and on-off valve are preferably an impeller flow meter and an electrically actuable on-off valve, respectively. In order to improve the dosing accuracy, a sensor is provided with the flow meter for sensing the speed of flow given, for example, by the frequency of rotation of the impeller and for supplying, to the evaluation circuit, a preferably electric sensor signal that corresponds to the speed of flow.

  • Patent number: 5099699
Abstract: A flow indicator or flowmeter is provided with an impeller which is rotatably mounted in an essentially circular-cylindrical flow chamber of a flow housing which has an inlet channel and an outlet channel. The impeller has an odd number of blades and is visible through a transparent side wall so that rotation of the impeller can be viewed to indicate fluid flow. The impeller can have magnets, ferrite cores or similar impulse creating elements by means of which an electronic circuit is actuated so that the device serves not only as a flow indicator but also as a flowmeter. It is also preferred that the inlet and outlet channels be orientated obliquely relative to a radial direction of the flow chamber such that the fluid impinges on side faces of the impeller blades.

  • Patent number: 4938078
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring flow rate. A flow meter has a cylindrical interior with a substantially constant diameter over its full length, through which the fluid medium to be measured flows. A float element is movably mounted in a sealing manner within the interior of the housing. The flow of the fluid medium creates a force on the float which is preferably opposed by a spring with a progressive force charateristic. The float element includes a hollow cylinder forming an inner axial flow channel. The fluid medium flow is restricted by an orifice plate having an essentially circular orifice with a diameter considerably smaller than that of the hollow cylinder. The orifice plate is held in the hollow cylinder in a manner which allows replacement with another orifice plate having a different orifice. The particular orifice plate used is determined by the range of viscosity of the fluid to be measured. Starting from a lower limit of about 1 cSt.

  • Patent number: 4827092
Abstract: A flow meter or monitor arranged on a conduit section through which a medium to be monitored flows includes an actuating element extending through an opening in a wall of the conduit section, with a flow pressure plate of the actuating element positioned in the flow path of the medium. The actuating element is mounted on a support plate and is deflectable against the force of a spring with a deflectable outer end projecting into a housing positioned outwardly of the opening in the conduit section. The housing may be detached from the conduit section. The end of the actuating element projecting into the housing is equipped with a permanent magnet to operate a reed contact switch to be in an electrical circuit when the actuating element is deflected. The switch is surrounded by a protective cover and is accommodated in a through-hole in the housing. The support plate can be detached and inserted into a recess of the housing and is prevented from rotation with respect to the housing.

  • Patent number: 4708166
Abstract: A control valve for automatically maintaining a constant rate of flow of a fluid through a pipeline includes a housing having therethrough a passage including an inlet opening and an outlet smaller than the inlet opening. An orifice plate is positioned within the passage adjacent the outlet opening, the orifice plate having therethrough an orifice. A regulating diaphragm is positioned within the passage at a location upstream of the orifice plate. The regulating diaphragm has therethrough circumferential ports and a central opening smaller than the orifice.

  • Patent number: 4611105
Abstract: A device, disposed in a tube line, for the through-flow measurement of gases or liquids according to the float element principle with a float element (4) which is disposed in a narrow measuring tube (3), the measuring tube containing an axially magnetized magnet with a diameter of 1 to 8 mm, and with a subminiature protective gas contact switch (5) which is disposed laterally adjacent the measuring tube (3) and which has an operating sensitivity of 5 to 120 ampere turns. The device may be enclosed in a housing (2).

  • Patent number: 4573361
Abstract: A float-type flowmeter includes a tubular housing adapted to have flow therethrough a fluid medium the flow of which is to be measured, and a spring-loaded float positioned within the housing and adapted to be lifted axially therein by the flow of the medium. A ring-shaped gap is defined between the float and the inner surface of the housing. The float includes a hollow cylinder defining axially therethrough an inner flow channel, and an orifice plate extending across the flow channel, the orifice plate having therethrough an orifice defining the narrowest part of the flow channel. The ratio of the thickness of the orifice, measured axially of the cylinder, to the diameter of the orifice, measured transversely of the cylinder, does not exceed 0.5 for flow rates of approximately 0.1 to 5.0 l/min, and is approximately 1.0 for flow rates of between 2 and 20 l/min and above.

  • Patent number: 4567777
Abstract: Device for throughflow measurement of gases or liquids according to the suspension principle, with a suspension element in the housing and special design of the housing, the attached indicator device, and the switch, said switch being activated by the suspension element when the predetermined throughflow volume is reached. The reverse side of the housing (1) of the flowmeter displays a contact surface for attachment rails; these rails connect the switch to the housing by way of a cavity between the rails, into which a T-shaped rail, attached to a base plate on a switch part, is inserted. The housing (19) of the indicator device (4) is positioned to the side of the housing (1) of the flowmeter and is screwed to the latter and secured to the flowmeter housing (1) with two attachments collars (18) inserted into a slot between the housing wall and the attachment rails.
