  • Patent number: 4611254
Abstract: The invention relates to a control mechanism for a magnetic-tape-cassette apparatus, which mechanism comprises two adjacent axially movable actuating rods (33, 34) for switching two different operating modes of the apparatus. The command mechanism comprises a command member (250), which cooperates with a servo rod (260) which is axially reciprocable by means of a servo motor (22). The command member carries a command pin which engages a basically closed guideway (253) in which the pin can travel in one direction only. The guideway branches into a first (254) and a second command track (255) which the command pin can enter from the guideway. Drive portions (33a, 34a) of the actuating rods engage the command tracks. When it enters the first or the second command track the command pin shifts the relevant drive portion of the corresponding actuating rod so as to move this rod.

  • Patent number: 4573088
Abstract: A mechanism for setting a tape deck to individual functions between the insertion of a cassette into the deck and ejection of the cassette, is driven by a servomechanism which positions and actuating rod in the direction of insertion. An actuating rod, which is movable in the direction of insertion, cooperates with a switching source which supplies switching commands corresponding to actuating rod positions to a control circuit, for controlling a servomotor which is part of the servomechanism for controlling the tape deck movements.

  • Patent number: 4530252
Abstract: A device for automatically inserting and ejecting an information carrier by means of an over-center mechanism, which is actuated manually until the over-center point is reached. The over-center mechanism comprises an eccentric gear which has a diameter which increases as the insertion movement proceeds, the gear surface engaging a sliding member for the information carrier. As a result, the automatic insertion path length is increased relative to the manual insertion path length.

  • Patent number: 4503476
Abstract: A magnetic tape-cassette apparatus having at least two push-button members, which perform different functions in the apparatus and a movable cassette compartment which is adapted to receive a cassette. An over-travel depression common to the two push-button members causes the cassette compartment to be pivoted by causing an ejection pin of the cassette compartment to follow profiles in portions of the push-button members. The profiles can be followed only in the ejection range when the two button portions are depressed simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 4481832
Abstract: A torque-measuring test cassette having at least one annular member arranged to engage a winding mandrel of a tape cassette apparatus. A resilient metal strip extending radially from each annular member has a far end arranged to be guided in a slot in the test cassette housing, so that a strip can bend as a result of torque imparted to the annular member by a winding mandrel. Each strip has a strain gauge attached to at least one side to permit remote electrical measurement of bending of the strip and thus the torque exerted by the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4471398
Abstract: A magnetic tape-cassette apparatus comprising at least two push-buttons which have individual functions in the apparatus, when individually pushed in to produce a normal travel of their push-button rods, the individual push-button rods being releasably latched in the position in which the individual function is performed. The two push-button rods, when pushed in simultaneously, are depressible beyond the normal travel over a common overtravel path as a result of pivoting of a catch to perform a further function. Pivoting of the catch is controlled by engagement of at least one pin with portions of at least one guide contour.

The two push-button rods, when pushed in simultaneously, are depressible beyond the normal travel over a common overtravel path, to perform a further function, and a latching slide, which is movable to a release position for releasing the normal-travel latches, is retained in the release position by an intermediate slide when the push-button rods are in the overtravel range until the normal-travel latching projections have passed the latching cams during the outward movement of the push-button rods.

  • Patent number: 4434442
Abstract: An automatic reverse system for magnetic tape cassette equipment having two capstans with associated pressure rollers and two drivable winding mandrels for the cassette reels. The direction of operation of the apparatus is reversed simply in that the drive motor is electrically switched from one direction of rotation to the opposite direction of rotation. Owing to this change of the direction of rotation a swing arm is changed over, which switches the drive mechanism from one winding mandrel to the other winding mandrel. The winding mandrel now driven in turn linearly moves a control plate, the plate pivots a lever transmission which in turn moves a head support, (via) having stops which lift the pressure roller off the one capstan and permit the other pressure roller to be applied to the other capstan.
