Publication number: 20230032731Abstract: Methods for operating a medical imaging device for positionally correct representation of non-anatomical structures during an imaging examination may include providing a first 3D image containing at least one anatomical structure, extracting at least one anatomical model from the at least one anatomical structure, providing 2D update images recorded at different times, extracting non-anatomical and anatomical structures from subsets of the update images, calculating a non-anatomical 3D image from at least two partial reconstructions based on the extracted non-anatomical structures, reconstructing an anatomical 3D image based on the extracted anatomical structures, registering the anatomical 3D image with the first 3D image by determining a coordinate transformation, and creating a navigation volume from the anatomical model and the non-anatomical 3D image using the coordinate transformation.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2022Publication date: February 2, 2023Inventors: Klaus Hörndler, Marc Kachelriess, Michael Knaup, Thomas König, Tim Vöth

Patent number: 11490868Abstract: Medical imaging methods for processing a three-dimensional (3D) image data set with two-dimensional X-ray images from an X-ray machine using a target function. Methods can include providing a 3D image data set of at least one examination zone in which anatomical structures are present, segmenting the image data set to provide a 3D vascular structure model and a 3D bone structure model, recording a first two-dimensional (2D) X-ray image containing at least a portion of the vascular structure and at least a portion of the bone structure, recording a second 2D X-ray image of the examination zone at a different contrast agent concentration, and subtracting the first and second 2D X-ray images to generate a subtraction image. An optimum projective geometry may then be determined using a three-part target function based on the 3D image data and the 2D X-ray images.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2021Date of Patent: November 8, 2022Assignee: Ziehm Imaging GmbHInventors: Thomas König, Klaus Hörndler, Marc Kachelriess, Michael Knaup

Patent number: 11403793Abstract: This disclosure relates to an X-ray system for obtaining referencing information in the form of a coordinate transformation between a first volume and a second volume, with the volumes partially overlapping. In this case two partially overlapping subareas of an extended object having a continuous distribution of a physical size are discretely sampled with a measuring apparatus; the volumes are reconstructed and the overlapping volumes are iteratively changed, wherein a bandpass filter is applied to the overlapping volumes, where said bandpass filter changes the Fourier domain representation of the overlapping volumes. The filtered overlapping volumes, in which the artifacts, induced by the discrete sampling, are matched, are compared by means of a measure of similarity, which is iteratively maximized by means of mathematical optimization.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2020Date of Patent: August 2, 2022Assignee: Ziehm Imaging GmbHInventors: Thomas König, Klaus Hörndler

Patent number: 8272638Abstract: A device for transporting flat objects, such as mail items, has two transport tracks and an acceleration device arranged between the transport tracks. The acceleration device includes a clamping pair for holding the objects in a clamped manner on their opposing flat sides while the objects are moving. To be able to carefully accelerate objects of different thicknesses, it is proposed that at least one clamp of the clamping pair includes a segment unit with several segments of different configuration for clamping objects of different thicknesses.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2009Date of Patent: September 25, 2012Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventor: Klaus König

Patent number: 8020863Abstract: A method and a device transport a flat object, especially a mail item, over a conveyor path. The transport device has two conveyor elements, a thickness sensor and a gap-altering device. With the aid of the thickness sensor the thickness of the object is measured, before the object reaches the conveyor path. With the aid of the gap-altering device the gap between the two conveyor elements is set to a computed value. The effect of this setting is that after the setting the gap is smaller than the measured thickness and the difference between the measured thickness and the gap is smaller than a predetermined limit. This setting is concluded before the subject matter reaches the conveyor path. The two conveyor elements clamp the object for a time between themselves and transport the clamped object over the conveyor path.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2008Date of Patent: September 20, 2011Assignee: Siemens AGInventors: Klaus König, Meinhard Nattermann, Armin Zimmermann

Publication number: 20090065407Abstract: A device and a method for transporting a flat object are provided. A feeder module temporarily holds the object in a feeder gripping area and transports it. A first transfer component takes the object over from the feeder module, holds it temporarily in a first transfer gripping area, transports it in the first transfer gripping area at a first transfer speed which can be changed in terms of time and passes it on to the second transfer component. A second transfer component takes the object over from the first transfer component, holds it temporarily in a second transfer gripping area, transports it in the second transfer gripping area at a second transfer speed which can be changed in terms of time and passes it on to a removal module. The removal module temporarily holds the object in a removal gripping area and transports it.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2008Publication date: March 12, 2009Inventors: Rana Chanda, Klaus Konig, Armin Zimmermann
