Patent number: 6313228Abstract: A process peroxidically treats olefin polymers with di-tert-butyl peroxide in an extruder. The olefin polymers together with di-tert-butyl peroxide under an inert gas are fed to an extruder. The olefin polymers are used in a finely divided form at from 55 to 110° C. The use of peroxidically treated olefin polymers for producing moldings, fibers, films or nonwoven spunbond fabrics is described, as is a process for producing moldings, fibers, films or nonwoven spunbond fabrics.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1999Date of Patent: November 6, 2001Assignee: Basell Polyolefine GmbHInventors: Karl Huber, Jürgen Schwind, Klaus Lehr, Hermann Elser, Horst Klassen, Karl-Heinz Kagerbauer
-
Patent number: 4600565Abstract: Manganese(II)salt solutions containing ammonium salt are made by subjecting a manganese-containing compound to processing treatment with an ammonium salt solution. A boiling temperature of 57.degree.-68.degree. C. is established in the suspension to be subjected to the processing treatment, by application of a vacuum. The ammonium salt solution used contains 0.5-2.5 mol/l diammonium sulfate or 1.0-5.0 mol/l ammonium nitrate.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1985Date of Patent: July 15, 1986Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Klaus Lehr, Bernhard Hofmann, Gero Heymer
-
Patent number: 4482527Abstract: The disclosure relates to a process for removing nitrogen dioxide from off-gas. To this end, the disclosure provides for the off-gas to be intimately contacted with a suspension consisting of red phosphorus and a liquid being inert with respect to red phosphorus, e.g. water.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1983Date of Patent: November 13, 1984Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Klaus Lehr, Gero Heymer
-
Patent number: 4447400Abstract: A device for metering liquid yellow phosphorus into a rotating ball mill for the production of red phosphorus therein includes a stationary outer tubular structure surrounding an inner tubular structure rotatably mounted therein. A valve having a valve rod associated with it is installed within the inner tubular structure near its end close to the ball mill. A plug provided with a central bore receiving the valve rod is installed within the inner tubular structure near its end remote from the ball mill. A bellows surrounds a portion of the valve rod inside the inner tubular structure, the bellows being tightly connected to the plug and valve rod.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1982Date of Patent: May 8, 1984Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Hans-Werner Stephan, Hermann Klein, Klaus Lehr
-
Patent number: 4418043Abstract: The invention relates to a process for separating seminoble metals or noble metals from aqueous solutions having compounds of these metals dissolved therein, by reaction with yellow phosphorus. More particularly the aqueous solutions are contacted with carrier material having a yellow phosphorus coating applied thereto. It is possible for the aqueous solutions to be conveyed through a zone having the yellow phosphorus-coated carrier material placed therein, and for them to be subsequently conveyed through a further zone having uncoated carrier material placed therein.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1981Date of Patent: November 29, 1983Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Klaus Lehr, Gero Heymer
-
Patent number: 4394360Abstract: Iron contained in phosphoric acid solution is reduced from the trivalent to the bivalent oxidation stage. To this end, red phosphorus is used as the reductant and the reduction is effected in the presence of copper.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1981Date of Patent: July 19, 1983Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Klaus Schrodter, Klaus Lehr
-
Patent number: 4392962Abstract: The invention relates to a process for separating seminoble and/or noble metals from an aqueous solution having compounds of these metals dissolved therein by subjecting the solution to reaction with red phosphorus. More particularly, the solution is conveyed through a zone containing a layer of granular red phosphorus particles with a size of 0.01 to 10 mm, which may be used in admixture with active carbon.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 1981Date of Patent: July 12, 1983Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Klaus Lehr, Gero Heymer, Christian May, Hermann Klein
-
Patent number: 4330504Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for making red phosphorus by subjecting molten yellow phosphorus to a thermal conversion reaction in a closed reaction zone. To this end, a hollow shaft-provided and closed ball mill is preheated to a reaction temperature within the range 280.degree. to 590.degree. C. Yellow phosphorus is continuously introduced into the ball mill through the hollow shaft in quantities per unit time which permit the reaction temperature prevailing inside the ball mill to be maintained without supply of heat from the outside. More particularly, decreasing quantities of yellow phosphorous are introduced per unit time at increasing temperature and increasing quantities of yellow phosphorus are introduced per unit time at decreasing temperature within the limits specified. Red phosphorus is allowed to cool inside the ball mill, water is poured over it and the whole is subjected to wet-grinding. An aqueous suspension of red phosphorus is finally removed from the ball mill.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 1981Date of Patent: May 18, 1982Assignee: Hoechst AktiengesellschaftInventors: Klaus Lehr, Gero Heymer, Hans-Werner Stephan, Ursus Thummler
