  • Patent number: 5594197
Abstract: The present invention relates to a secondary projectile for a tandem warhead including a forwardly located active charge, a rearwardly located active charge and a fuze which is arranged therebetween, and whose triggering direction is oriented towards the forwardly located active charge, whereby the transmission of the ignition or triggering is implemented forwardly through the intermediary of a booster charge and towards the rear through the use of a cross-triggering device. The booster charge which is triggered by the fuze consists of an explosive material and lies directly against the forwardly located active charge, and wherein the booster charge at the other side thereof is separated by thin cross-ignitable wall segments of a housing of the cross-triggering device from at least two tongue-shaped explosive material poles of the rearwardly located active charge.

  • Patent number: 5561261
Abstract: The present invention relates to a tandem warhead with a secondary projectile. An explosives gas protector shields the secondary projectile with respect to a hollow charge located in front of the secondary projectile, and wherein the housing possesses a conical section having a tubular segment of smaller diameter arranged thereon, whereby a bottom is provided on the tubular section which opposite the hollow charge has the secondary projectile smaller in caliber and at its circumference includes a screwthread into which there engages a screwthread of the tubular section, and whereby the secondary projectile contacts against the bottom under prestressing.

  • Patent number: 5309843
Abstract: A warhead which may be integrated, for example, in a bazooka, is capable of shooting through a wall protecting an enemy. For that purpose, a tandem charge includes a hollow charge which produces in the wall a firing passage for a follow-up charge. The follow-up charge is in the form of a fragmentation projectile which produces fragments behind the wall.

  • Patent number: 5155297
Abstract: A projectile-forming explosive charge-insert of intensified penetrating power into a target, wherein a mass or weight component is centrally positioned in the insert, and the weight member possesses at least one shank projecting into the explosive charge. The weight member or mass serves as a stabilizer during the deformation of the insert into a projectile. The deformation procedure is favorably influenced by the weight member; in effect, during the collaboration of the insert in the region of the head, the mass or weight member acts in a damping or attenuating manner. Governing for the attenuating property of the weight member is, accordingly, its length towards the explosive and its attenuating capacity specific to its material.

  • Patent number: 4942819
Abstract: Hollow charge with a jet-forming lining or cover, in particular for producing a channel for a follow-through projectile in take-off runways, roadways or other stationary ground targets. A projectile-forming inert material is located between an initiator point and the jet-forming lining or cover at a distance from the initiator point and jet-forming lining or cover. The size, geometry, thickness and spatial position of the projectile-forming body are adaptable to the respective target characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4860658
Abstract: A remote action mine, particularly a projectile-launching anti-tank remote action mine which includes a sensor logic for the obtention of a firing signal. The mine is equipped with a range finder and with a memory storage for the initial and final values of at least one range of action which is dependent upon the distance of the axis of action of the mine, with the suppression of the delivery of firing signals for target distances which are located outside of the stored range of action.

  • Patent number: 4858531
Abstract: A warhead or horizontal fragmentation mine, which includes an explosive charge arranged within a housing, which is covered at the front end thereof with a concave or planar coating or cladding; and a method for producing the warhead. The coating is entirely, or at least overwhelmingly, constituted of a brittle heavy-metal or hard or carbide metal with a static fracture or breaking expansion of 15 or 25%, in which the coating is decomposed during the detonation into a large number of natural fragments or splinters of certain quantity, which spread out in a definite fragment cone or fragment wedge, and wherein the ratio of the quantity of the coating to that of explosive consists of approximately 1:0.4 to 1:0.6.

  • Patent number: 4784062
Abstract: A fuze for a projectile-forming or fragment-forming, in essence, a spine or barb-forming charge, which affords that two detonating locations which are necessary for the splinter or fragment formation, are concurrently triggered in the region of the circumference of the charge. Through-extending bores are provided in a cover plate for the charge at the end facing towards the fuze, the bores containing a centrally located booster or intensifying charge, and spatially separated therefrom at lateral secure distances, two further booster or intensifying charges positioned diametrically opposite each other, whereby the further booster charges are interconnected through a rapidly reacting transmitting charge arranged in a V-shaped triggering passageway, two detonators being arranged in a slider at a distance from each other, and the detonators in the armed position, respectively, correlate with the central booster charge and with the detonating location for the transmitting charge.
