Publication number: 20230035373Abstract: A brake dust particle filter for a disc brake assembly is provided with a housing that has a first housing side wall, a second housing side wall, and a housing circumferential wall, wherein the housing circumferential wall extends between the first housing side wall and the second housing side wall. A filter insert with a filter medium is arranged in the housing and extends along one of the first and second housing side walls and along the housing circumferential wall. The filter insert has a curved circumferential edge. The housing has a curved receiving groove. The curved circumferential edge engages the curved receiving groove. The filter insert is L-shaped and is configured to at least partially cover a friction surface and a circumferential surface of a brake disc of the disc brake assembly. The curved circumferential edge of the filter insert projects past the filter medium.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 3, 2022Publication date: February 2, 2023Inventors: Tobias Woerz, Benedikt Weller, Lukas Bock, Franc Pricken, Steffen Pfannkuch, Theodor Rockinger, Andreas Aigner, Ludwig Bammersperger, Philipp Plenk, Klaus Gehwolf, Oliver Reiners, Klaus Mack

Patent number: 7014766Abstract: A filter element (4; 4?) for a fuel filter arrangement has a first end disk (15; 15?) and a second end disk (16; 16?) between which extends a return line (18; 35), each opening into an outlet opening (24; 24?) on the outside of the filter element (4; 4?). The fuel filter housing (2) for such a filter element (4; 4?) has a fuel connection (11) which opens in a guide tube (10) above a bottom area (7, 8) of the filter housing (2). A first filter sealing area (22) cooperates with a first housing sealing area (9) and a second filter sealing area (21) cooperates with a second housing sealing area (12).Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2004Date of Patent: March 21, 2006Assignee: Mann & Hummel GmbHInventors: Klaus Mack, Kai Knickmann

Patent number: 6966981Abstract: A replaceable filter cartridge assembly for a liquid filter and a liquid filter in which such a filter cartridge is installed. The filter cartridge 10 is provided with a support element 15, and a seat 20 for a sealing membrane 19 is provided on the support element 15. The sealing membrane seals the inlet 22 of the housing via a sealing edge 21 that acts as a return flow barrier over the inlet. The sealing membrane 19 also has a radial sealing surface 23 to provide a seal between the support element 15 and the outlet port 24 of the filter. This permits the filter cartridge to be manufactured in a particularly cost-effective manner and assures simple mounting within the housing. Since only the filter cartridge, which can be pushed onto the support element 15, needs to be exchanged, very little material has to be disposed of when the filter is replaced, which further increases the cost-effectiveness of the filter in use.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2003Date of Patent: November 22, 2005Assignee: Filterwerk Mann & Hummel GmbHInventors: Walter Binder, Klaus Mack

Patent number: 5098559Abstract: A liquid filter for cleaning the lubricating oil of an internal combustion engine which comprises a vertically upstanding filter housing 10 closed at the top by a removable cover 12. In this filter housing there is a filter insert 18 which is removable for maintenance and separates a dirty liquid chamber 41 from a filtrate chamber 42 in the filter housing. When the cover 12 is opened and the filter insert 18 is removed, the liquid drains out through a drain passagway 17. This drain passageway 17 is provided with a shut-off device 25 which shuts off the drain passageway 17 when the filter insert 18 is installed, and which opens this drain passageway 17 when the filter insert 18 is loosened. The shut-off device 25 is a compact unit which can be mounted and inspected outside the filter housing 10, and can be used for filter housings of various sizes.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 1990Date of Patent: March 24, 1992Assignee: Filterwerk Mann & Hummel GmbHInventors: Klaus Mack, Jaroslav Pavlin
