  • Patent number: 7090204
Abstract: A carburetor arrangement for a two-stroke engine (1) is for a portable handheld work apparatus such as a motor-driven chain saw, cutoff machine or the like and has an intake channel (22). The intake channel (22) is partitioned by a partition wall (11) into an air channel (8) and a mixture channel (21). A fuel opening (27, 28) for supplying fuel to the two-stroke engine (1) opens into the mixture channel (21). The carburetor arrangement has a carburetor (17) having a carburetor housing (18) wherein an intake channel section (32) is formed. A throttle flap (24) is pivotally journalled in the carburetor housing (18). A good partitioning of the air channel (8) from the mixture channel (21) results with a simple manufacture of the carburetor (17) when a partition wall section (31, 48, 58, 68, 78, 88, 98) is configured as a separate component upstream of the throttle flap (24) and is held in the intake channel (22).

  • Patent number: 7066120
Abstract: A two-cycle engine is provided that has a cylinder in which is formed a combustion chamber delimited by a reciprocating piston that via a connecting rod drives a crankshaft rotatably mounted in a crankcase. An inlet is provided for a supply of fuel into the crankcase, and an outlet leads out of the combustion chamber. In predetermined positions of the piston the crankcase communicates with the combustion chamber via at least one transfer channel. The cover is secured to a connecting flange of the cylinder, the cover closes off the transfer channel on an outer side of a cylinder, the connecting flange is inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder by an angle that opens in a direction toward the crankcase.

  • Patent number: 7021253
Abstract: A two-cycle engine is provided and includes a cylinder in which is formed a combustion chamber delimited by a reciprocating piston that via a connecting rod drives a crankshaft rotatably mounted in a crankcase that, in predetermined positions of the piston, communicates with the combustion chamber via transfer channels. The cylinder has an outlet from the combustion chamber. An intake duct leads into the crankcase for a supply of fuel, and an air duct supplies substantially fuel-free air. In the vicinity of the piston the air duct is divided into two branches that open out at air openings of a connecting flange formed on the cylinder. A cover is disposed on the connecting flange and extends over the air openings. A flow divider on the connecting flange projects beyond a plane thereof and into the cover. The flow divider divides an air flow in the air duct to the two branches.

  • Publication number: 20060048974
Abstract: A guide frame (1) for an earth drilling apparatus includes a support plate (6) for holding the drive unit (7) and a handle frame (2) having handle sections (17, 18) for holding and guiding the earth drilling apparatus. Operator-controlled elements (19a, 19b, 19c) for controlling the drive unit (7) are arranged in the region of the handle section (18). The handle sections (17, 18) of the handle frame (2) lie in a plane (5) above the support plate (6). The handle frame (2) encloses the drive unit (7) as a closed frame and is connected via a carrier frame (8) to the support plate (6). The carrier plate (8) is fixed to the handle frame (2) via several coupling elements (20). Each coupling element (20) includes a vibration damper (24) which is arranged between the carrier frame (8) and the handle frame (2). In this way, the handle frame is decoupled by the carrier frame from the drive unit with respect to vibration without affecting the bracing of reaction forces via the handle frame.

  • Patent number: 6955152
Abstract: A manually operated tool such as a parting-off grinder, chainsaw or similar device has a tank housing which contains a fuel tank. The tool has an air cleaning unit, the tank housing being connected to the clean air side of the air cleaning unit via a bleed device. A simple design in which leaks are avoided results if a reservoir wall of the tank housing and a housing wall of the air cleaning unit are positioned adjacent to one another and the bleed device comprises a bleed opening which passes through the reservoir wall and the housing wall.

  • Patent number: 6945203
Abstract: A two-cycle engine is provided, especially in a manually-guided implement such as a power chain saw, a brush cutter, a trimmer or the like, and has a cylinder in which is formed a combustion chamber that is delimited by a reciprocating piston that, via a connecting rod, drives a crankshaft that is rotatably mounted in a crankcase. In prescribed positions of the piston, the combustion chamber is connected with the crankcase via at least two transfer channels. At least one air channel is provided that opens out at an air channel window at the cylinder in the region of the piston, and that, in prescribed positions of the piston, is connected with at least two transfer channels via a piston window formed in the piston. To achieve a good scavenging of the combustion chamber, and hence low exhaust gas values of the engine, structural features are provided on the piston window for the defined distribution of air to the transfer channels.
