Abstract: A running web which contains moisture is caused to travel through the nip of two squeezing rollers one of which is deformable in that it comprises a stationary carrier and a cylindrical shell which surrounds the carrier and also surrounds a first set of inflatable cushions adjacent the nip and a second set of inflatable cushions opposite the first set. Sensors monitor the moisture content of selected longitudinally extending portions of the web, and the signals which are generated by such sensors are processed by an evaluating circuit and are transmitted to valves which regulate the pressure of pneumatic fluid in the cushions. Each cushion of the second set registers with a cushion of the first set, and the registering cushions can receive fluid from associated sets of valves including a pressure regulating valve which can increase or reduce the pressure of fluid in the respective cushions and a second valve which can shift the admission of fluid from one into the other of the registering valves.

Abstract: A device for pre-treating and post-treating a textile web, especially knitted goods, by means of two at least nearly vertical rows of deviating drums or rollers which are arranged one above the other and over which textile webs are passed in a zigzag fashion from below upwardly while the drums of one row are offset as to height relative to the drums of the other row by about the deviating drum diameter.

Abstract: A device for wet treating, especially dyeing and impregnating, a textile web in a continuous manner, which comprises a liquid receiving and containing vat and a deviating drum or roller immersing into the vat and adapted to have looped around its respective lower section the textile web to be treated. The deviating roller or drum is hollow and free from axle journals. Above the respective upper circumferential section of the deviating roller and symmetrically arranged with regard to the longitudinal central plane of the deviating roller there are rolls engaged by the deviating roller in the floating working position of the deviating roller.

Abstract: A steaming plant for the treatment of continuous webs of textile material which contain thermoplastic synthetic fibers, especially polyacrylic nitrile fibers of the like. The steaming plant includes a steaming chamber and a vat-shaped, bath-free cooling device which when viewing in the direction of movement of the web through the plant is located behind the steaming chamber. Air from the outside passes through the cooling device in a direction opposite to the direction of movement of the web, while between the steaming chamber and the cooling device there is arranged an air or steam floodgate or charging valve lock or seal (also identifiable as air-lock or steam lock as well as air-trap or steam trap) from which conduit means lead to a chimney or flue and/or to a blower.
