  • Patent number: 7380632
Abstract: A safety system for operating at least one electrically actuated locking apparatus of a door of a motor vehicle has a crash sensor for sensing an imminent accident event. Upon sensing an accident event with a crash sensor within a first specified interval of time, the locking apparatus remains bolted within a second specified interval of time, which has such a length that it includes the entire temporal course of the accident event, and is subsequently unbolted. The crash sensor for sensing an imminent accident event, upon recognizing a possible imminent accident event, actuates central bolting in such a way that the locking apparatus of the door is bolted for the first specified interval of time. This first specified time interval has such a length that the possible accident event will fall in the time interval specified.

  • Publication number: 20080020199
Abstract: A sound insulator for a motor vehicle passenger compartment is disclosed. The aim of the invention is to develop a sound insulator which makes it possible to obtain an improved damping effect within a frequency range less than 300 Hz. In that respect, the invention relates to a sound insulator for a motor vehicle passenger compartment, which comprises an air cushion consisting of a dampingly active envelope which is made of an elastic material and disposed between a sound-generating component and the compartment internal space. The invention provides for a sound damping layer (25) which matches the shape of said component (13), acts as a spring material system and is covered on the compartment side by a heavyweight film (26), thereby forming the first shell of the air cushion (29).

  • Patent number: 7018321
Abstract: A method and a device for stabilizing a vehicle having an engine and an automatic transmission for driving drive wheels of a first axle, the transmission having a free-wheeling position for interrupting the force flux between the drive wheels and the engine, and having rotation-sensing wheel sensors on the drive wheels and on wheels of a second axle of the vehicle. The device has gear shift means for shifting the transmission into the free-wheeling position when it is determined, using at least one of the rotation-sensing wheel sensors, that at least one wheel of the second axle is locked or is expected to lock.

  • Patent number: 5409273
Abstract: A locking-aid device is disclosed for a lock, especially for a vehicle door lock or flap lock, in which a pneumatic single-acting locking-aid drive is provided for displacing an abutment for a rotary latch out of a catch position into a locking position, in which the abutment is secured positively by means of a detent pawl. According to the invention the detent pawl can be lifted out, during the opening of the lock, independently of a movement of the locking-aid drive by means of an operative connection. This can be brought about purely mechanically or by means of a separate drive for lifting out the detent pawl during the opening of the lock, so that the abutment can always jump into its catch position immediately during or after the opening of the lock and thus also allows a successive multiple activation of the locking-aid assistance.

  • Patent number: 5335959
Abstract: The invention relates to a link element of variable effective supporting length for the spring drive of a pivoting component, especially for the pivoting drive of a structural member of a vehicle folding top, which is articulated at a distance from the pivot axis of the pivoting component at one end on the pivoting component and at its other end on a countercomponent. The link element comprises an accumulator spring which can expand, with a change of the supporting length, and which can be regenerated by means of a backward pivoting movement of the pivoting component. The link element comprises a rigid link which is articulated elastically on the connecting component via the accumulator spring, with the result that the effective supporting length is variable within narrow limits.

  • Patent number: 5253575
Abstract: A drive system for a lid or a flap of a convertible car body in which the control effort for the drive system is reduced by configuring the working cylinder as a control valve which releases the lid or the like after unlocking of the lock for lifting by the lifting cylinder, and is connected between the control device and the lifting cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5158330
Abstract: A motor veicle compartment closure lock with a locking wedge (2) attached on the closure, and lock elements attached on an opening frame for the closure. The locking wedge (2) can be retracted, in a powered way, from an extended, open position into a pushed-in, locked position and, for this purpose, is coupled by a lever mechanism (3) to a power transmission element (5) with a powered drive. The powered drive can be built especially small and light because the drive is made as a drive that operates only in one direction (locking direction) and returns automatically in the opposite direction. Power transmission element (5) is slaved or can be slaved to the locking wedge (2) in the locking direction and moves freely in the opposite direction. A shifting lever (6) is provided that is carried by the power transmission element (5) in the locking direction and is spring-loaded in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 5141265
Abstract: The invention concerns a securing device for swivelling components of vehicles, in particular for engine hoods of motor vehicles. A securing hook which, after the release of the swivelling component, initially maintains a catch connection between this swivelling component and a fixed location mating component until the securing hook is pivoted into a release position by means of a manipulator. The manipulator, which is recessed when the swivelling component is locked, is automatically transferred into an accessible operating position by utilization of a forced advancement of the swivelling component relative to the mating component initiated by the release procedure. A control edge effectively connected to the manipulator and supported on the mating component is moved in the opening direction of the securing hook by sliding along the mating component.

  • Patent number: 4941569
Abstract: The invention relates to a rectangular key case having a swing-out flat key, so that the key can be integrated into the case in a space-saving manner. The case contains a key receiving space formed as a two-legged receiving shaft which, viewed over its length, is essentially L-shaped and extends with its longer leg along the side edge and with its shorter leg along the front edge of the key case housing. The flat key, in its non-working position, is lowered with its shank part entering into the longer leg and with its grip part entering into the shorter leg located near the corner of the key case housing. The shank part of the flat key is pivoted outside the housing and around its corner with the flat key in a working position pointed in the opposite direction from its non-working position and whereupon the grip part of the key engages into a longitudinal area of the shorter leg more remote from the corner.
