  • Patent number: 10827524
Abstract: A method of decentralized medium access control in a communications network consisting of a plurality of stations, wherein a sending station transmits a reservation request for a future transmission to an intended receiving station, said intended receiving station being in a reception range of said sending station, said reservation request signalling reservation information including starting point and duration of the transmission, defining a time period of said future transmission, and, in case of a multi-channel system, frequency or code of the channel of said future transmission, so establishing a reservation, and stations active in said reception range overhear said reservation request and other stations than said intended receiving station perform the actions of storing said reservation information locally and defer from medium access during the time period and on the channel of the future transmission.

  • Patent number: 9370033
Abstract: In an Access Point controlled wireless network, wherein one channel communication is ruled by an identifier associated with the Access Point, a method for direct communication between a first station and a second station, includes generating a second identifier by the first station, different from the identifier associated with the Access Point, and optionally choosing a different channel; sending, by the first station, an invitation message for direct communication carrying the second identifier and optionally the second channel to the second station; sending, by the second station, a response message acknowledging the invitation message; setting up direct communication between the first station and the second station using the second identifier and optionally the second channel.

  • Patent number: 9089004
Abstract: The present invention relates to the connection of subnets which operate on different frequency channels and are connected by wireless forwarder stations. According to the present invention, a forwarding station periodically switches to the other frequency channel to remain there for a pre-defined presence duration, whereby jitters of the presence time caused by overlapping packet transmissions are compensated. According to the present invention, a presence and absence time of the forwarder station in the respective subnet is indicated by using signals relating to a power saving mechanism.

  • Patent number: 8406331
Abstract: A fast method for allocating those channels or subcarriers of a multicarrier network to an ahead lying transmission is to let a transmitting terminal and a receiving terminal which intend to access the medium determine the status of the channels or subcarriers that are within their reception range and send a signal indicating the determined status to the corresponding terminal which will select those channels or subcarriers for the eventual transmission which fit best. Other terminals within the transmission range of the transmitting or the receiving terminal respect the reservation and wait for the current transmission to find out which channels or subcarriers are actually used.

  • Patent number: 8400960
Abstract: Method for reservation of a medium in a radio communication network for data transmission between stations (A-E) of the network comprising at least one station (A, B, E) operating according to a first protocol (DRP) and a second station (C, D) operating according to a second protocol (802.11), the method comprises the steps of: providing a contention free period (23) within the first and second protocol; performing the reservation of the medium for the first station (A, B, E) according to the first protocol; and performing the reservation of the medium for the second station (C, D) according to the second protocol, announcing the contention free period for the first and second protocol by use of the same signal (21, 22, 31, 33). In particular a beacon signal is used, wherein the beacon includes a signal (488) which is recognized and accepted by the second stations (C, D). Further information (404) is added into the beacon frame (41) for reserving reservation periods (23) for the first stations (A, B, E).

  • Patent number: 8126006
Abstract: A method of providing a medium access control protocol using a listen before-talk scheme within a wireless network having a plurality of stations communicating over a channel, wherein a valid route from a source station to a destination station via at least one more station is determined, said method comprising: transmitting a data packet over said channel by a first station; receiving said data packet in a second station; analyzing data in said data packet by said second station whether said data packet is to be forwarded further; and if said data packet is to be forwarded further, prioritizing transmission of said data packet on said valid route.

  • Patent number: 7940874
Abstract: Receiver for receiving a data stream via a data bus, which receiver samples the bits of the data stream in an over-sampling process, in which n bit strobe offsets are used and n data sets with i bits are sampled,—applies a decision criterion for identifying those data sets with correct bit values. This decision uses checksum CRC,—selects one of the identified data sets with correct bit values and—uses the bit strobe offset, which was used for receiving the selected data streams, for receiving the data stream. In this way the multiphase clock with optimal phase shifts is selected.

  • Patent number: 5600652
Abstract: Local area network operating in the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) comprising a plurality of stations which are coupled each via a network interface, which interface comprises a coupling device and a control arrangement and transmits cells via the coupling device between send and receive ring lines, to at least one station and at least one control arrangement. A control arrangement comprises an access controller which is arranged for conveying, in dependence on the contents of the header field of a cell received from the coupling device, the cell or first parts of the cell and/or additional information to a bus system and units coupled to the bus system.
